Citings from Friday night - all cleared (UPDATED)

Davy Wilson for making contact with Kruis' eye area, and Kruis for biting Wilson.

Could this be the end of their seasons?

In which case he will only miss this week ends match as the week after is Europe.

Good point it seems that match is now on April 23rd! So he will indeed miss 2 matches :smt023

Let's hope he scores a few unanswered tries against Stains on April 30th!

So Watson gets a 2 week ban for foul and abusive language towards a fourth official but Cockerill got a 9 week ban a few seasons ago for the same thing. Lack of consistency there!

It is inconsistent but that isn't my biggest concern.

Irrespective of how culpable he may or may not have been in that tackle and no matter how justified he may have been in feeling so aggrieved, in dealing with Watson, the authorities have sent out the wrong message. Using foul and abusive language against the officials is simply 'not cricket' - indeed, it should be as wrong to use the 'f-word' against a rugby official as it would be against a cricket umpire.

When RC got 9 weeks, it sent out an unequivocal message to all participants - the mature and, particularly, the impressionable young - that abusing officials was simply not acceptable. It said (with apologies to Nigel Owens) "this is not wendyball!"

That message could have been reinforced today - it wasn't.

Agreed. Should be a lot longer ban for foul and abusive language to any officials.
