Re: Tigers v Stade Team.
Where to start ? For 2 minutes we couldn't get our hands in the ball and then one ridiculous moment by Stade gifts us a try. I just laughed but , no, it was 7 points.
After that, well just sublime . Yes, a few faults but, if you want to know the score, look in the book.
Possibly our best display of the season.
But I agree ......Stade were awful. All that talent and nothing holding it together .
Who cares?? Celebrate...bring on the Shiraz!!

Well we won as 2/5 favourites and the relatively in form team playing at home should. I don't think any of us will be getting carried away.... but nobody could argue that was a really good performance. For me most impressive was how on numerous occasions players get the legs pumping and made that extra metre or three. Some real determination and desire in there. We are going to need more of the same in the games to come. Goneva and Tait back to their best. Great to have O'Connor back in the mix. Etc, etc.
Re: Tigers v Stade Team.
Great result for us today, will really raise our confidence and especially as we have a home semi in Nottingham.
Thought we played well as a team, loads o f commitment, a few errors to work on, must not get carried away, Stade were not great but took us a long time to get the ball off them, without Paraise they would really have looked poor, bloke works his socks off for them.
Do we rest anyone for next week, my view we should go with strongest team we can put out and try to finish off the Saints season.

Cant expect 3 consecutive top notch [performances, something will have to give v Stains in terms of selection.. however Harry will have to give way to Bateman v Racing to shore up the scrum, even though he is magic on all other counts.

Re: Tigers v Stade Team.
Great result and a brilliant team effort. Betham was superb again and he seems to be trying to take Manu on in the "that's going to hurt in the morning" tackle department He has been mentioned already in this thread but massive shout out for McCaffrey as well - the guy was everywhere!
(unfortunately for those involved) Saints picked up a couple more injuries yesterday too which is not going to help their already depleted squad - go for the jugular lads! (still going to be a ridiculously tough game - it is Saints vs. Tigers at the end of the day!)

Great result and well done to the team, though I thought we had the rub of the green today, was that first try really a Tigers throw in?
Also seems Veainu is competing with the other backs to see who can best butcher a scoring opportunity. Are Goldsmiths running a butchered try of the season competition or something?
Defence was much improved and the two intercepts that led to tries took the heart out of SF. Thought Tait had a good game, knock on apart.
Hopefully Tigers can carry that performance through to next week against the Saints and keep us in the mix in the AP. Wiliams need to get some kicking practice in though as his kicking was awful, might be crucial in other matches.

Re: Tigers v Stade Team.
Take a bow the team and Mr Burns! Can't believe others on here are being critical of Freddie kicking the ball into touch that then led to his quick thinking to grab the ball and throw to Manu for the opening try! That set us on our way given they were on top in the opening 20 mins, ditto his interception try. I thought his touch kicking was superb.
Too many others to pick out... BOC gives us a chance at the breakdown, the engine room and back row put in a shift and I thought all the backs played well. We look dangerous although I'd like to see more ball for Telusa 'Jason Robinson' Veianu....
Not to end on a negative, but get them on the scrummaging machine this week! If we can perform there like we did in Munster we'll be serious challengers for silverware.

Agreed. Was close to that incident... terrible pass from Manu mindThought Tait had a good game, knock on apart.

So the Tartan Ruggers are on the Crumbie now are they?watsonjm wrote:Fantastic day out today. Great game from a tigers point of view, great away fans and now to look forward to saints and home country semi final.
Only down side was the elderly gentleman who had to be escorted of the terrace after pulling out a pocket knife and tring to cut the stade fans drum skins. Very odd.

Re: Tigers v Stade Team.
Already posted on another thread, but hey...
A performance even I can't moan too much about....
A much better team effort all round, which just goes to show, they can do it when they want to. It has to be said, they were helped by a woefully unconfident Stade team.
Criticisms are minor, but for me, the biggest disappointment is still the scrum. I know some like to think so, but Tigers do not have the best front row in the AP and the tight five were under pressure at pretty much every scrum. On a positive note, Thacker is definitely improving at hooker.
Manu doesn't have the best rugby brain and it showed on a couple of occasions when the pass should have gone but didn't or he passed it when it wasn't really on.
Referee Owens had a very good game. His consistency and clarity of officiating is just what we need to see more of in the AP. Too often we see Referees take the spineless option of giving penalties or going to the TMO rather than backing their decisions to let play develop.
Saints are beatable at The Gardens, based on that performance. However, they showed a lot of dog v Saracens at the weekend and Tigers will have to be on their metal. Reversion to 'headless chicken' style will cost them the match. Don't care what anybody says, momentum is everything now, and the team cannot afford to lose any games now.

Re: Tigers v Stade Team.
Just to ease your mind G.K, yes it definitely was a Tigers throw in, they checked it on the TMO before awarding it and the Stade player clearly took the ball into touch.G.K wrote:Great result and well done to the team, though I thought we had the rub of the green today, was that first try really a Tigers throw in?

Re: Tigers v Stade Team.
I have no idea to be honest. I was just shocked and slightly ashamed. I thought the Stade fans we're brilliant and really help make what was a brilliant atmosphere. I wonder if we shouldn’t have a few drummers at every game to stir people up a bit.G.K wrote:So the Tartan Ruggers are on the Crumbie now are they?watsonjm wrote:Fantastic day out today. Re: Tigers v Stade Team.
Regardless, what was really dull was the Stade player meekly handing the ball to burns which allowed him to take the quick throw. I notice that after half-time, no Stade player made the same mistake.killer938 wrote:Just to ease your mind G.K, yes it definitely was a Tigers throw in, they checked it on the TMO before awarding it and the Stade player clearly took the ball into touch.G.K wrote:Great result and well done to the team, though I thought we had the rub of the green today, was that first try really a Tigers throw in?

There was me thinking it was good Tigers' pressure that forced an error, when all along we were just handed the ball.......meekly.......how fortuitousRoly wrote:Regardless, what was really dull was the Stade player meekly handing the ball to burns which allowed him to take the quick throw. Looks different on the highlights, depending of course on how you choose to view it

There are some posters on here that could find fault with God, or think they are.
Take it for what it was, an all-out attack that crumpled a troubled team. As with Danny Willett, you have to be in to win and take the chance when it presents itself.
