I really don't under Tigers defensive strategy, is the plan to simply string players across the pitch and hope players run into them?

No - let me explain...

Scott H works on the basis that the Apricot man could do a pass-over across the nutmeg off the sock. If you play the sock master like he says, well - you've got 5 points written blind. You see, I've been studying the shoulder-stats, and this'll tickle you, you've got to go all the way back to Blackheath in the 80's for a diagonal counter-rabbit.

OK? :smt026

Yes it's sad to say it. Think we need to sign a new one, Harrison is good in many ways, just lacks something and Kitto has not proven himself yet. Like I jokingly said last week Stringer still has a great deal to offer but he s not available and if he was it would only be short term and we need long term direction.

No - I take viagra and prozac. If it works - great. If it doesn't, I don't care! :smt031

Of course not - a plan like that would be far too complicated. the defensive plan this season is to leave so many gaps in mid-field that the attacking players get confused and run around in circles. They still need to refine this a bit yet though.
Nowadays referees decide matches, players by how much.

Phew!
When Gloucs generated quick ball we were in trouble.
To a man they were more effective at the breakdown in attack and defence, it's not just about the turnover stats but instinct and timing and the knock on effects.
They were just technically so much better at it individually and BY struggled with his game as a result, one Gloucs man occupying two or three Tigers on numerous occasions.
Tigers got some decisions today IMO.
Tigers backs though are as good as anyone, given some half decent ball to play with.

The 6N are done and dusted. Ben Youngs needs to wake up pronto and start playing for Tigers as his current form doesn't merit a bench slot. Reverted to waving his hands about trying to influence the ref.
The ref wasn't buying it and quite frankly if Youngs just got on with getting the ball away quickly the likes of Manu, Betham and Vianu would rip defences to pieces.

Slater either wasn't fit to play or isn't an 8. I suspect both and we would be better off with him in the second row.

Young Evans looks a real prospect and played well.
The tackling was woeful. We also seem to be trying the choke tackle with no conviction or efficacy.

Last week Ben was outplayed by 38 yr old Stringer, this week Laidlaw was so much better, even commentators have it right, Ben just slows game down all the time, looking round indicating what he is going to do and most times you can read him like a book, very occasionally he does something special, but he is not best International scrum half, Murray is surely the best of the 6 Nations.

COL - I COULD SEE YOU TEARING YOUR HAIR OUT FROM WHERE I WAS SITTING!
WITHOUT MANU,VEAINU AND BETHAM WE WOULD HAVE GOT A SOUND BEATING TODAY - EVERYTHING WAS AT 1/2 PACE - TOO MANY INDIVIDUALS OUT THERE TODAY AND NOT NEARLY ENOUGH TEAM PLAY
WHAT POSITIVES CAN RC TAKE OUT OF THAT? WERE THEY THINKING OF NEXT WEEK TOO MUCH?

Chris you have wonderful eyes, I am in Gt Yarmouth at moment, really want to write a full breakdown of our play but that would take too long for even me! Great game for the neutral to watch but as a Tigers supporter that was horrible for a lot of the time, coming after that even worse sloppy showing at Sale, I don't have much hair left!
But on the positive side if he picks the right side next week, with a solid front row, and similar backs as today we should beat Stade but we need to learn from these last few games.

I hate to be controversial, but amidst all the moaning and groaning it's worth pointing out that we've seen a magnificent game of rugby.

That is quite controversial people come on here to criticise not praise! Personally I really enjoyed it, however out of choice I'm a perfectionist and would prefer a perfect performance.

Exciting and entertaining without doubt.

Magnificent? Not in terms of quality, skill or execution.

Yes v Stade Harrison must start for quick ball and Kitto on the bench too.Ben Youngs has not reset to British Summer Time with is delivery. :smt015
Very impressed with Evans No.7 and Thacker had a good game.
Mulipola was off with his tackling. The last two games we have donated points to the opposition.
