Two teams seemingly desperate to emulate each other this season.

Should be fascinating.... :smt005

You write as though losing to teams languishing in mid-table were an uncommon thing....

This one will be close.

This needs to be a game we step up and dominate it from start to finish to give us the momentum needed to push on...Will we?..given the injuries and likely back row we will put out I doubt it..

Consolidate and hope for the best is a more realistic goal.

I see Sharples is out for the rest of the season, he could have actually caused problems on Saturday. All we need now is for 22 other calamities to befall Glaws and we're home dry.

Maybe their bus will get stuck behind a trac'or and they'll miss the kick off? :smt003

We must get a bonus point win this Saturday and hope wasps do us a favour by beating Saints on Sunday. This then will make our meeting with the Saints on the 17th of April even more of a crunch match, if we win that we have easier last two fixtures than the Saints, so 4th place should be ours.

Gloucester without Sharples and May - would never wish any injury on a player, particularly a season-ending one - but it's a much less potent threat we'll be facing without those two.

Be great to repeat the end of January fixtures when we beat Gloucester; Falcons beat Quins; and Pests beat Stains! :smt045

So with BOC, JDV and Slater fully training this week I would go with

1) Ayerza
2) Thacker
3) Cole
4) Slater
5) Kitchener
6) Croft
7) BOC
8) McCaffrey
9) Youngs
10) Williams
11) Thompstone
12) Manu
13) Smith
14) Betham
15) Veainu

16) Bateman/Van Vurren
17) Genge
18) Mulipola
19) Barrow
20) Fonua
21) Harrison
22) Burns
23) JDV/Goneva

The thought of Genge, Logo and Fonua coming off the bench together is scary.

I'd probably rest Cole and have him on the bench. Also thought Manu looked much happier (and more destructive) at 13.

Like that side RB - and the bench! Think Kitchener to start / Barrow on the bench is a close call; is Fitzgerald still out?; Smith at 12 with Manu 13; prefer JdV to Goneva at 23.

I would start with JDV at 12. A player with his experience will slot straight back in to this level of rugby. My starting 15 would be:

1) Ayerza
2) Thacker
3) Cole
4) Slater
5) Kitchener
6) Croft
7) BOC
8) McCaffrey
9) Youngs
10) Burns
11) Thompstone
12) JDV
13) Manu
14) Betham
15) Veainu

We haven't got time to ease players back in gradually. Get players like BOC, JDV and Slater out in the mix.
