This is terrible news and at just 37 a tragedy for his family.
He made many friends in the world of rugby and especially in Leicester.
RIP big man, you were a star here and may you shine forever over the world.

As for a minutes applause? I am sorry but where did that come from?
It should be a reverent, dignified silence and not a single supporter will break it.

Sad news indeed, condolences to his family and friends.

Very sad news and the decision for silence or applause will not diminish peoples thoughts and memories of Seru. Sad it is, but also to be celebrated and remembered for what was achieved in a life too short.

I too would prefer silence but as others have said it is the thoughts we have during that minute that matter.

My memory of him is that he was one of the few players who would stop and chat in the tunnel before a game. Fiji is a beautiful country which I visited 11 years ago during the last Lions tour and I am sure there will be many youngsters who looked up to him for inspiration - may his memory live on in their head and hearts. RIP

Seru's body may have left us but his spirit and brilliance will be forever part of Leicester Tigers rugby; Fiji rugby and the wider rugby community. His ability to break the line and come up with his infectious smile that lifted all our souls will live with us and enhance us.

He will undoubtedly live on in his family and friends in different ways but come what may he will always by Seru.

As a Teenager playing rugby for my school and for Hinckley RFC whilst he played at Tigers he was an inspiration to me, He taught me to play with a smile and to be uncompromisingly physical, absolutely gutted to hear of his passing and really wish I could be there at the Sarries match to pay my respects with the rest of the Tigers family, RIP Rambo :smt009 :smt009

So sad to hear of the loss of a true old school gentleman.

My favourite memory? Not the barnstorming runs and the crunching tackles - although they were great to watch - but of my youngest son's first Tigers game (he was 5, I think, so probably around 2006). Seru (as I remember him always doing) was dawdling at the end of the game chatting to fans - and when my boy gave him a wave he came over with the biggest beam and picked him for a chat.

My boy is all grown up now but if he has to name his all-time favourite Tigers Seru will always be in there (we even tried to get a trip to La Rochelle to see him when he played there but didn't manage it before he retired).

I'll be off to break the sad news shortly....but Seru, thank you....and keep on running.

This is such sad news.
I feel so sorry for his family.

As others have said, he was a lovely man, and an exciting rugby player. An all-round class act.

37 is definitely far too young. My thoughts are with his friends and family. I have many happy memories of him playing. Probably my favourite rugby memory is of Seru and Alesana taking it in turns to be first receiver and run at Ryan Lamb after scrums and lineouts in the 2007 Premiership final. Poor lad.

RIP Seru.

Very sad news. I once bumped into him in the city centre , he didn't seem to notice and carried on down High street in his shorts and flip-flops...it was the middle of winter....

Shocked to here this news. 37 is no age to go. A player I admired and enjoyed watching.

RIP Seru.

God what I would give to have a player of his ability to be in our squad ATM.

A brilliant player.

He played when my dad first brought me to the Tigers and I remember him standing out as the best player and was always one of my favorites as a kid. Rest well Seru.
