Graham Rowntree
Have I missed a post or am I having a Grey Moment.
In a previous post it was alluded to that MR ROWNTREE is returning to Welford Road as scrum coach. Is this true? If so When.
Could be the best decision made this season if true.

Re: Graham Rowntree
Great news - as long as he doesn't bring his old boss with him!
Happy days clearing straw from the pitch before the Baa-Baas games! KBO

Re: Graham Rowntree
Do you mean Bomber or Johnno?
I would have Johnno back in a flash!

Must admit that I haven't seen Rowntree being mentioned as far as I can remember. Boris has been mentioned more than once.wellstiger wrote:Have I missed a post or am I having a Grey Moment.

Re: Graham Rowntree
Apparently he was visting speaker at the Try Line Club which does not necessarily translate into him now being our scrum coach. That said, who knows
Without hope we are nothing, keep the faith, a Tiger for eternity
Re: Graham Rowntree
Nice thought.
My guess was that he was visiting his Mum for Mother's Day and decided to take in the game but if he managed to combine it with earning a couple of bob, well, it pays for the flowers and chocolates.

Re: Graham Rowntree
Nope: 1880 club. He was very honest about the world cup exit. However, when asked about who he would start at 10 for England, he said Farrell without a doubt! Edit: apparently, Noddy is the usual guest speaker in the Try Line club

In Post - Tigers v Exeter

Great for 60 minutes then we took off Logo and the next minute we got pushed off the ball.
The resulting points for Exeter were all because the pack, reinforced from the bench were decidedly inferior. Balmain was the first change and was poor in the set piece.
If Rowntree is coming back as forwards coach I will be delighted because if the second eight is so poor we just can't use them as they are. Especially in a tight game.
Thacker was OK with the heavy pack around him but with weaker props the whole is
weakened.
Still a bonus point win is very welcome. Onwards and upwards
As my old friend Bill would say. Keep the faith
So not entirely a grey moment

Boris was at Market Harborough Rugby Club on Saturday, didn't get the chance to ask him what he is up to though.Cagey Tiger wrote:Must admit that I haven't seen Rowntree being mentioned as far as I can remember. Re: Graham Rowntree
I thought it was Boris who was coming back as scrum coach.(stankovich not johnson)
Re: Graham Rowntree
I thought Boris was on his way too. The word was that Wiggy left to go to Twickers in support of John Wells after the board had refused to give Wells a full contract, preferring to keep him on a rolling one, leading to him going to Twickers. I suppose it all depends if there's still a bad taste in Wiggy's mouth, and him being asked of course.
Either way we need someone who understands propping. I suppose we could kill 2 birds and get Farmer White, he could also improve Barrow's right hook.

Opportunities always look bigger going than coming.
Re: Graham Rowntree
I spoke with Boris on Sunday at MHRC, said welcome back and when do you start? He told me he had never been away, still lives in Kibworth and had no idea where that rumour came from, he is not taking over from Cockers as scrum coach.

Re: Graham Rowntree
Has Boris finished at the Dragons? He's still listed as a squad member on their website and as having been playing this season quite frequently.
Re: Graham Rowntree
He is still at NGD, 3 months left, he said he cannot run now, he commutes down the A50 and looks forwards to the return trip most!
