I don't want to be pedantic strawclearer , but I don't think George Best ever played with Christiano Ronaldo !
I was actually 'locked out ' of Filbert Street when Best , Charlton and Law played together there and United won 5 - 0 . Happy days !

Mike, I was at the 5-0 and it was horrible to be a City fan, as they didn't do a lot wrong!
And incidentally Best wasn't then a super star, but Charlton and Law were.

The reasons may be useful to the opposition, either in this or upcoming games. Even the lack of reasons will keep them guessing. This is why so often Cockers makes a statement about fitness which then turns out to be incorrect. It may not be overly sophisticated but he is certainly using his few brain cells more than some posters on here. Or do you assume teams don't study each others squads and game play? Or is there some way you expect him to tell you and still be confident that the opposition won't find out? :smt017
Couldn't agree more.

Let's say he is boarder line fit after his knock last week. If he is good come Sunday and get's a start or even a bench such a last minute change should put us on the front foot against a defence who will have been boning up on the playing stile of a Betham/Manu pairing. I'm happy to be kept in the dark if it means the opposition are similarly shackled :smt023

Ok - I may have made that bit up!

Last time I was at Filbert St., Dennis Law played a blinder for Man CITY!

Was that in his time at MC in 1960/1 or his return in 72/74?

If the reason for not saying is because it benefits either the player, the team or the club then I am OK with it. For example switching Manu in at the last moment to prevent a media circus. But a lot of the time it appearsjust to be they don't feel that should. And I don't agree with that.

When people say we don't have the right I wonder what they think they mean. I suspect I have no right to expect to expect working toilets or to have unobstructed view of the game or any of a couple a dozen things but it seems to me to be a reasonable expectation.

Good question! I know I'd had a few pints before the game and I was born in '52 so it must have been when he returned to Man City.

Probably.

I was there when we (City) won 2-1 Rod "Twitcher" Fern and a Dave Nish pen to a Booby Charlton Pen.

Meanwhile back, on track, I actually prefer Betham at centre. Give us some pace? we'll need some against the Chiefs.

Agreed. I think a Betham/Tuilagi combination might be rather formidable!

On JDV perhaps knowing we may miss Manu for the following two games, risking him if not 100% could be a gamble not worth talking

BT have just showed a table with the remaining fixtures for the bottom three - Newcastle, Irish and Worcester.

Sarries, Wasps and Quins play all of them; Exeter play two of them; we play only one (Worcester); Saints miss all three of them.

Makes the Exeter match as crucial as...well...all the rest of them!

For the amount of tries he's scored, I'd take the tedium of reminders...

Still a good Leicester side there.

I wonder if Cockers is kicking himself as hard for signing the elusive JDV as he is for letting the likes of Waldrom go?

Another way of looking at it is that the top 3 all have to play us, 2 of them at Welford Rd.

Just hope OTY makes it back for the pests game :smt009

Looking at the teams I expect a bonus point win for us.
