Whats going wrong

Post by wellstiger »

Performance wise....
Gloucester, Sale now Newcastle...
No urgency, No effective attack and poor defence over three games.

The old Tigers of Newcastle outshone the new signings.

I'm not a doom monger but something is not working, No cohesion between forwards and backs.
Mr BURNS noticeable by his absence( reminiscent of his Gloucester days)

Refereeing wise relatively good day for G.G

Over three games do referees not penalise high tackles anymore.

Well done to Glouc. Sale (who were average) and Newcastle who .wanted it more

Maybe the southern hemisphere style is proving to be beyond us at the moment.

How many old Togers played TBH?

We just lack grunt in the backs and forwards.

We lack hard runners and hitters.

We lack that ability to go wide.

I think there is a big lack of leadership on the field. Missing key players, and just really flat.
I'd like to see a few changes ahead of Quins now - start Pearce, maybe Kitto over Harrison. And then hope the talk about JDV, Manu etc being ready for next Friday is true!!

Garner ok? Probably one of the worst refereeing performances I have ever seen.

That said, we were abysmal and have been all of 2016, seemingly even getting worse. Cockers was reeling, and rightly so. I really hope that this is a kick where it hurts for next week. But we said that last week...

Individuals don't make a team. Look at Newcastle tonight. The work ethic has gone missing with Tigers.

I am not making excuses as there aren't any.
However, were we at full strength? I would say no. Do I think that Williams x 2, Cole, Youngs x 2, Tuilagi, Thompstone, Slater, O'Connor, Goneva, Bai, Bell would have made a difference, I think yes.

Missing the leadership of Slater, and Youngs, certainly yes!

We need some leadership out there. Pull the team together.

Err, we beat Gloucester, with a very effective attack or two.

Did he. I don't think so. He had a decent game - no more.

You are a doom monger.

That is nonsense IMO. Burns had a good game.

Why would I say well done to Gloucester? The other two yes.

I said before the game we would miss the leadership of Slater and Youngs.

Too biggest issues for me are no leadership on the pitch and kicking the ball aimlessly up the field. How you can hope to get anything out of the game without the ball in your hand is beyond me.

Newcastle have been putting it together of late. We can't go up there with half the first team missing and expect an easy ride.

I thought we butchered some real good opportunities earlier in that second off. By the time we finished one off we running of time.

Nevertheless, Quins now becomes a very big game.
