Cohesion is the missing word. Tigers need to play as a team and whether you are first or third choice in a position you ought to know where to be on the pitch. Having injured players is a norm for most teams and waiting for someone is like waiting for Nirvana.

Looking again at last night's selections and the impact the subs had four stood out for me. Jack Roberts was bursting onto the ball and was at least trying to straighten up. Thacker was on the pace and was his normal wrecking ball self. Kitto sped up delivery from the ruck and lastly Pearce who always had more about him than one two bump Crane.

Nothing against Sam or Smithy, who have been good thus far, Why not start with these guys? At least they seemed more up for the fight? The back line may have been a juggle but why not Roberts at 12 Beetham at 13 and maybe Smithy on the wing. Tait at FB and Veainu on t'other wing? Comacho didn't impress me..............apologies!

Blaming strength in depth is one thing..........but don't the coaches need to know who's up for it and who's feeling it a bit and select accordingly?

Blimey, Wuss are winning against Bath.....when the dust settles we may be able to be more realistic.

No............There is still a problem to solve, isn't there? Seeking solace in other's misery (be it oh so comforting) will not cure Tiger's woes. Some stiffer medicine is required.

However, if Quins lose it buys us a little time.

Sack Baxter! Two losses in two weeks! Fancy losing against Sale! Exeter on the wane as "Fortress" Sandy Park crumbles!

In all seriousness, however, that Exeter side was significantly more first team than ours was against Sale...

I felt we lacked zip for the most part of last night. I wonder whether in a bid to solve last weeks inept performance on the mud bath against Sale we've over trained in the week and taken the edge of ourselves. On a fast pitch we lacked that little bit of spark. That said, plenty of last nights team have played far more rugby than ideal this season and are gagging for some sort of break and a match against a team full of confidence and wanting a big scalp was to much for us.

We sorely miss Ben Youngs. Harrison offers little in attack and doesn't worry their defensive line in any way. Ben keeps them honest. His brother was equally missed as well. We so badly needed a straight line running ball carrier that breaks the gain line. I also felt Laurence Pearce should have started on a fast pitch. For me Jordon Crane only does a job when it's heavy underfoot and the game lacks pace.

Really looking forward to next weeks game though with certain key players promised to be available. Lol. I'm hoping Tommy Bell is fit. Otherwise fly half will be a major problem.

From the UnOffy:
"A good team is not a matter of accretion, it doesn't decline arithmetically. This is an example of catastrophe theory in action. You lose one or two players, nothing much changes. However, you lose certain players and a collapse is set in motion. The flaws in the game of others suddely become glaringly obvious, other players get knackered through trying to compensate, the half-seconds that were always being created become half-seconds less - which is crucial in sport at any level.
Our losses have been - with hindsight - spinal to our play.
IMO Mike & Owen Williams and BOC are the three key spinal losses. YBY has compounded this, and while Coley is well compensated at setpiece by fraser, not so over the ball at breakdown. We had up to 5 jackals in the side at one time, now down to one. That speeds the opposition up, changes what we face, slows our ball down, stops us creating broken play, nullifies Betham & Veainu.
IMHO that is all that it has taken."

Impressive analysis JG, one I cannot disagree with. Lack of leadership and strength in depth?

Agree, it's not rocket science.
Look at the poor A league results, look at the posh schools the academy lads are coming in from, the pattern is obvious.
