So sad to read about the passing of a fan and excellent contributor to this forum. I read the forum daily but do not contribute often.

If it helps those who want to pay respects, my father sadly passed today and an email to the club received a quick response confirming that we can put his scarf and some flowers on his seat on Saturday.

I don't know where he actually sat, so if it could be labelled or somesuch, flowers could be left there? I don't know, jsut feel that members like him (and Noddy etc) deserve recognition even if only in their sad passing.
Gary is aware and I have also informed Sarah who organised many of the Tiger Events that Bill so enjoyed.

Just logged on and shocked to read the sad news. As many have pointed out, he will be missed, and is a considerable loss to this forum. :smt051 :smt051
I could agree with you...but then we'd both be wrong.

That's a shock and a half. Needless to say this forum will not be the same without him.

His posts were often a highlight. I think it would be a lovely gesture if there could be a permanent reminder of him on this forum, even if it's just a banner of Keep the Faith.

R.I.P Bill. :smt051

I was very sorry to hear that Bill Woodward has died.
It must have been very sudden as I had no idea he was ill.
We were very much of the same opinion on most things Tigers.
As Burnie was no doubt aware.

He was very proud to have been at the 03 world cup and loved Tigers.

I have no idea if he had a religious faith but he always espoused keeping it
in Tigers colours. Rest in Peace old friend.
Kindest regards to all his family

My second post here. Been reading the posts on all topics that have appeared since I was on here yesterday. On some of them, I was subconsciously waiting to read a post from Bill, they were topics that he would have commented on.

Perhaps they should rename the new clubhouse stand in his honour, or at least one of the catering outlets in there. That would make the mischievous old so and so cackle! :smt026 :smt026 :smt026
At least they will never put a roof on Welford Road, so he will always have a good view from on high.
RIP old boy.

Dam, desperately sad news.

Unfortunately, never had the pleasure of meeting Bill but recall how he provided his weight and support to try and improve the catering, as well as giving Lindley's a good shoeing along the way.

I'm sure he'll be resting peacefully knowing that Cockers has finally listened to him and adopted entertaining, free flowing rugby.

Such sad sad news - I also never met Bill but enjoyed his posts - his input to our club and his comments on facilities that we had or should have had.
RIP Bill and enjoy our new rugby style from above. :smt023

Shocking news. I read the Forum very often and have learnt a lot from Bill W about our famous club and rugby in general. Will miss his posts and his humour. RIP Bill W.

Terribly sad news, my deepest sympathy to Bill's family and friends.
Bill's humour and motto on the forum is what rugby is about and he was clearly a very knowledgeable rugby man.

Echoing the words and sadness on this thread. A great loss to this message board and to the club.
