Very sad news about Bill. He was definitely one of the characters of the forum and a true tiger and the forum and the world will be worse off without him.

The forum is going to be a bit less informative and less fun.

Very sad news. Bill will certainly be missed on the forum and no doubt to those who knew and loved him. I remember back in the early days when he congratulated me on the forum after I'd announced our son's arrival.

Thank you all for your kind posts about my father. I know he was an argumentative :censored:, but only because Tigers was his passion and he loved a good debate! I came to many a match with him and it always amused me how he (and Clive) would argue with the ref from the top of the stand!

As you have all said... he will be missed.

Not really arguments more differences of opinion on some topics. However Bill was certainly respected on this forum for his ready wit and knowledge and it was a sad loss to many of us, who regarded him as a friend even though we'd never met.

Once again condolences to you and to all his family and friends at this sad time and I hope he gets a good send off to that great Rugby ground in the sky.

The Forum is much the poorer for the loss of you dad, as is Tigers and the wider rugby fraternity. He was indeed a man of great wit, intelligence and rugby knowledge with an innate knowledge of which button to press to wind people up and perhaps more importantly knowing when to stop pressing.

I express my sincere condolences to you and your family for your sad loss.

It frequently came across in his posts that the only thing more dear to him than his beloved team was his family. I remember him speaking fondly of his wife, children and grandchildren on several occasions.

Sorry for your loss.

How many times have we had a thread of over 100 posts with no arguments or wind-ups. Bill would have been impressed.
