Glaws vs Tigers

Post by Maidman »

So fellow forum dwellers, what are our predictions for this weekend?

No YBY or Cole, but otherwise I would predict a fairly strong starting side. After last year I am hoping we give the cherry & whites quite a thumping! Ain't going to be easy though!

No Tom Youngs either!

We should be beating Gloucester if we want to be winning the Premiership.

We should be taking a strong side. 4 points against a Glaws is doable. I'd like to see:

1) Ayerza,
2) Bateman
3) Logo
4) Fitz
5) Kitch
6) Croft
7) McCaffrey
8) Pearce
9) Harrison
10) Burns
11) Betham
12) Smith
13) Manu
14) Thompstone
15) Veainu

16) Thacker
17) Aguero
18) Balmain
19) Barrow
20) Crane
21) Kitto
22) Bell
23) Tait

Although could potentially see Croft on bench, Fitz at 6 and Barrow at lock?

In the absence of the phantom JDV, I would really like to see Manu and Mat Tait together.

If Bateman is fit I'd start him. Thacker has many qualities but I fear Hibbard will have him for breakfast in the scrum.

As has been the policy this season, I expect there to be some rotation of the squad, on top of those not available due to 6N and suspension. Not much though as this is probably the toughest game out of the next three, with Sale at home and Falcons away to follow.

No predictions just hope we get a win and if on top form could be a 5 pointer. We need this just to keep up with Sarries, Harlequins and the Chiefs and hopefully put some distance on the clubs behind us. Thacker
will come ib as replacement for OTY and Mullipola for Dan Cole and I hope we take the opportunity of Ben Youngs absence with the England Squad to reward Sam Harrison with another game. So my Team would be:

Backs: Bell, Thompstone, Tuilagi Betham, Veainu, Burns, Harrisson.

Forwards: Ayerza, Thacker, Mullipola,Barrow, Kitchener, Croft, McCaffrey
and Pearce.
Subs: Aguero, Bateman, Balmain, Fitzgerald, Crane.Kitto,JDV or Tait, Smith.

If Bateman isn't fit who is our bench hooker?

Ghiraldini (if fit? although if he's fit I'd expect him to start) or Van Vuuren?
Faithless is he that says farewell when the road darkens.

Is there a reliable way of knowing which shirt the boys are going to be wearing before they run out on the pitch? Sometimes it's mentioned on the Tigers' Twitter feed but not consistently.

I suspect this will be th second appearance of the black and grey number with Glaws' shirt having a similar amount of white to ours. I could be wrong though!

Possibly, my memory suggests that when they had a black away strip about ten years ago the only time they wore it in the league was at Gloucester (I think they wore away at Biarritz too).

I would feel very confident in saying this will almost certainly be the case.
