Re: 2015/16 Squad/Contracts/Rumours Thread Part 3
Would very much prefer Bell to stay------ahead of other famous names..
He is nerveless. A massive asset and we really regret losing him
If Morris Camacho Bai Lomanu Roberts and Goneva are all going , why on earth is he being sold ??

It's not like we don't want to keep Bell
But he wants to be a starter
He isn't better than Owen @ 10 and he isn't better than Veainu, Tait or Morris @ 15
Leicester offered him a deal he said no not much else we could do.
But again it must be Leicester getting rid of him.
Also Morris rumoured isn't off.

Perhaps we should have a separate thread for SBW. It might run as long as the JMH and Cau Cau rumours.sapajo wrote:Seeing is believing but I seriously think no one on this forum knowssamsapples wrote:Is there actually any substance to the SBW rumours?

There was absolutely no substance when I suggested we should recruit Toomua about 18months ago... But it still happened!sapajo wrote:Seeing is believing but I seriously think no one on this forum knowssamsapples wrote:Is there actually any substance to the SBW rumours?

According to Fissler this morning, Craig Willis has re-signed at Falcons rebuffing the interest from Tigers. THEN someone who won't be at Falcons next year is Hooker George McGuigan because he has SIGNED for Tigers.
Not been on my radar before, any McGuigan opinions anyone?

good promising hooker - would be a project. been selected ahead of rob hawkins at times and is in the irish u20 team.
Hehehehehehehehe

I thought the IRFU were desperate to get him playing in Ireland and find him a province. Though whilst Irish qualified I'm not sure he's actually ever lived there.trendylfj wrote:good promising hooker - would be a project. been selected ahead of rob hawkins at times and is in the irish u20 team.

Considered a good prospect, and has reportedly been on Tigers radar for a while.
However, was/is? also being courted by one or two of the Irish provinces.

So, another Falcons prospect on his way to us! I wonder how sour Deano will be about this one? Apparently he reckons Barrow will never be a patch on Johno, we'll seePaleoTiger wrote:According to Fissler this morning, Craig Willis has re-signed at Falcons rebuffing the interest from Tigers. I suspect that is true re the Irish interest but if he has signed, would certainly be a good young hooker to work on. He is a big lad as well with time to grow further.Stu_F wrote:I thought the IRFU were desperate to get him playing in Ireland and find him a province. I hope Tigers have the sense to convert Thacker to a 7, because he isn't big enough to continue at 2.

Re: 2015/16 Squad/Contracts/Rumours Thread Part 3
Converting to 7 would not be sensible IMO.
Still need scrum support from a flanker and with this job to do and his height he would have no view of what was coming.
The negative impact on the lineout would be absolutely massive IMO when you consider all the possibilities in attack and defence and messing with that is a bad idea IMO!
Is he better than O'Connor, McCaffery, Croft or others anyway?

Cheery chappy

So Thacker has two choices-No 9 ( he is considerably bigger than Stringer who stood next door to me in the queue for the bogs) or take up some other sport
Re: 2015/16 Squad/Contracts/Rumours Thread Part 3
Quite right of course. Same advice given to Neil Back, I believe? Or is the 1" difference in height crucial? The Boy Dave wrote:Converting to 7 would not be sensible IMO.
