Wiki had Brady as having 28 tries in 105 games for Sale. That's pretty good and at only 25 he's got experience but got plenty of time to develop still.

He's always been one of those players at Sale that I recall as effective without attracting loads of press. They've had quite a lot of those in recent years. Seems like Cockers sees some potential.

He also either seems to have fallen out of favour or been injured this season having really only played in the ER ChallengeCup.

Confirmed that Pearce is off http://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/ ... s-10969005
So who do we want as a new 8 - that bloke Manoa at Toulon looks like he could develop into a tidy player :smt002

I'm really sorry to hear Pearce is off. We can't hold on to them all of course but
there was a time when no one wanted to leave and that worries me.
I usually pick up rumours in and around the club but neither I or my mates were
on to this one.
We all knew that TTTE wanted away and why but this is a bolt from the blue.
He is not the perfect player yet but he has all the assets and we were looking
forward to him developing into a real star.
Sunday was the first time the pack performed for a while and well done to them but
I will be more convinced if we do it against a better side.
The pack has always been our greatest strength, even back in the fifties.
I get the feeling that there is a stone in that particular shoe that needs removing. Coaches or players?
The buzz is that Boris is on his way back or even Wig.
I watch with bated breath!

It's been rumoured on here and the unoffy for a while now so hardly a shock, but it is still a shame to see him go.Still developing, but has potential to be good.

Who knows why? The back row is a very competitive area at Tigers at the moment, so maybe he has been promised more of a staring role by Diamond. Maybe it's money?
Seems also that he hankers to be back 'up north'. Although is Manchester really closer to his birthplace?...Grantham-born Pearce revealed his excitement at returning to his northern roots....

Most people were happy when Cockers said that we would be spending a bigger proportion of the budget on backs now but there is obviously 2 sides to it and Tigers fans have been accustomed to scrum dominance.

Really sorry to see him go and certainly given the performances when they have been on the field - Pearce was ahead of Fonua for me - yes I know Fonua has only played 3 times but based on those performances I would pick Pearce every time.

Probably time now to look at who we are losing or who are rumoured to be going and see what we have coming in.

Out or Possibly out
Bell
Pearce
Bai ?
De Chaves ?
Gonova ?
Ghiraldini
Camacho ?
Benjamin ?
Loamanu ?
JVD ?

Possibly 7 backs and 3 forwards

I have probably missed someone out but from memory all of these have been mentioned at some time as leavers either here or on the Ultra's.

Ins
Toomua
JPP
Brady
Cilliers
Genge
McGuigan

3 backs and 3 forwards - any more?

On that basis I would say one more Forward (2nd row) and one more back (probably back 3)
Hehehehehehehehe

transfers have been great in and out except for pearce.

Goneva, camacho etc is a really good clear out.

Goneva in particular is being paid a lot of money for not much in last 12 months.

Pity we couldn't have cleared out Roberts and Catchpole but I imagine they aren't on too much on their re-signing.

What is wrong with Catchpole?

Academy lad played well against Bath when he came on for Tait after 2 mins.

Camacho likely to stay another year from what I have heard Benjamin not sure about.

From what I have heard
Def off and confirmed
Pearce
Leo
Bell

Likely to see off
Aguero
Tiz
De Chaves
Bai
Loamanu
Goneva (is gone from what I hear but nothing confirmed)

Maybes for various reason and circumstances.
JDV
Benjamin
Camacho
Crane
Logo
Rizzo (not sure what the deal is ATM).
Brugnara

Wouldn't mind seeing if happens
Cilliers --> Aguero
Genge --> Tiz
McGuigan -> Leo
Maksymiw --> De Chaves
Milne --> Pearce
Toomua --> Bai
Bryant --> Bell
Brady --> Loamanu
JPP ----> Goneva

Try and find a top 8, and for me that is pretty much sorted for at least next season.

Then replace the maybes accordingly to who goes and stays.

Rizzo/Aguerro - Genge
Ghiraldini - McGuigan
Pasqualli? - Cilliers
De Chaves? - (Maksymiw)
Crane? - (Owen/new 7)
Pearce - (Milne/new 8)
Bell - (Bryant)
Goneva - Pietersen
Loamanu - Brady
Benjamin - (Odogwu)
Camacho?
Bai - Toomua

Brugnara?
Sio?
JDV?

That's assuming it's only one of Brugnara or Pasqualli going. Hopefully keep Mulipola on, and JDV. Actually less ins that outs, but always some salary juggling to be done, plus clear a path for some academy/development promotions.

Leaves us with???

Ayerza, Mulipola, Genge, Brugnara
Youngs, Bateman, McGuigan, Thacker
Cole, Cilliers, Balmain
Slater, Barrow
Kitchener, Fitzgerald, Maksymiw
Williams, Croft
O'Connor, Owen/New signing
McCafferey, Fonua, Milne/New signing
Youngs, Harrison, Kitto, Tresidder
Williams, Burns, Bryant
Pietersen, Thompstone, Odogwu
Toomua, JDV, Roberts
Tuilagi, Smith, Catchpole
Betham, Brady
Tait, Veianu, Morris

Some flexibility there in that...
Mulipola and Cilliers can play both sides, although arguably I'd still like to see an extra prop on the books, unless there is a belief that either Sio is staying and ready to step up, or else one of Hills/Hogan is ready.
Williams, Fitzgerald and Slater are interchangeable between lock and 6.
McCafferey can play 6/7/8 very effectively.
Toomua can also play 10.
Betham and Pietersen can cover 13/15.
Tait can play 13, Veianu and Morris are also very handy on the wing.

I could see why you'd want another forward, but why second row?

Even if de Chaves were to leave as you suggest he might, that would still leave Slater, Kitchener, Williams, Fitzgerald and Barrow, any of whom would walk into any other match-day squad in the Premiership.

Perhaps we could use that sixth lock spot for an academy player (ha ha) and invest in back row depth. With Pearce leaving we're down to five front line player for three positions. With Williams. Fitz and Slater able to cover at 6 we are fairly stocked, but perhaps missing a hard-carrying and pacy No8.

Didn't O'connor also play 8

If so another great 7 could work

We've all seen what two 7's can do
