Corbs has left the building!

Post by fleabane »

Saints have announced that Corbisiero has left, with immediate effect, to take a year off. (ESPN)

Original report was he would leave at the end of the season.

All the best to him in the future, he is an exceptional talent when he isn't injured just a shame injury has robbed him of a large part of his career, he was simply brilliant for the lions

He seems like a genuine bloke as well, tweeted at the weekend about it being great to see manu back obviously knows how tough it can be mentally when you aren't playing

Good luck to Corbs and whatever the future holds for him. Gutted he never came to Tigers where he would have had the ability for rotation.

A shame for him - you wonder that with his sabbatical planned for next season, Saints wanted the space in the salary cap to bring in another prop (not that there's anything wrong with the Wallers, other than only being two of them!).

You have to hope it all works out for him and we'll see him in the summer of '17.

Maybe we should try to get him after the sabbatical - subject to fitness of course. I'm assuming that Aguero will leave as he is injury cover and not sure how long Rizzo has left on his contract. Would be good to have him rotating with Marcos and as cover when Marcos is away at the Rugby Championship for the first part of next season.

I agree with all the comments here. Wonder if he will ever play again?
he was simply brilliant for the lions
He terrorised the Aussie front-row in 2013 and was a big reason why we won that series.

By the time he's back from his sabbatical Marcos will be pushing 35 and will require cover. Could be a good signing at that point if he deals with his injuries. He won't command a huge salary having been out for a year, he has undoubted class, he won't need to play every week and we will probably match his ambition.

We made a success of Chuter after he took a sabbatical. We also made something of a success of Ricky Nebbett after his, erm, sabbatical.

Maybe he can be another Julian White and like a good wine we can look after him.
