Advice on Paris
Can anyone help? Where are most of the Leicester fans likely to congregate for the best pre and post match atmosphere? Any advice on good hotels also welcome?
Re: Advice on Paris
Le deux stade bar at the end of the road between the 2 stadiums or their clubhouse are both good places to go both pre and post match
Hehehehehehehehe
Re: Advice on Paris
I suggest either before or after the match we all congregate outside the Bataclan night club and hold a two minute silence for the victims of the terrorist outrages. After that Paris is your oyster there are good bars and restaurants on most corners of the inner city. Having lived there for 10 months in the late 60's I never failed to have a good weekend and some jolly nice midweeks too.

Did you live in a fancy appartment, off Le Boulevard St Michel?Noddy555 wrote:I suggest either before or after the match we all congregate outside the Bataclan night club and hold a two minute silence for the victims of the terrorist outrages. One night in Paris is like a year in any other place
One night in Paris . . . . . . . .may be your last

Hotel de Nice, by the way. On the Rue de Rivoli, on the edge of the Marais. Not been before but looks very louche! Definitely not one of your corporate international chain hotels.
In my defence, I was left unsupervised….
Re: Advice on Paris
For L Smith no I had a small apartment in the suburb of Issy Les Molineux which was literally just about big enough to swing a cat in, but it was close to a metro station which meant work was only a 12 minute ride away, and before you ask no I never came across anybody called ZiZi Jaumaire.

But, for clarity, I presume you are friends with the Aga khan?Noddy555 wrote:For L Smith no I had a small apartment in the suburb of Issy Les Molineux which was literally just about big enough to swing a cat in, but it was close to a metro station which meant work was only a 12 minute ride away, and before you ask no I never came across anybody called ZiZi Jaumaire.

Tigerbeat, please don't be cruel, as I was enjoying the thread. Great to have some humour.
On a serious note, the welcome from Stade, the club, was great when we have been before. However, I believe that the atadium has been rebuilt since we were last there.

Re: Advice on Paris
Paris is a lot like London in so far as there are countless hotels. Somewhere like lastminute.com will get you a more than reasonable late deal. I once used their secret hotel deal and got us a hotel about 10 minutes walk from the Arc de Triomphe for about £80 a night which I thought was reasonable. Absolutely nothing wrong with the hotel either.
I took my wife on a bateau mouche for her birthday when we were there. It was a very good meal on a pleasant boat that cruised up and down the Seine at night. A really lovely experience. If you're making a bit of an occasion of being there and are happy to splash out a bit it might be worth a look.

They leave from near the Pont d'Alma, where Princess Diana met her maker.
