No 10 for Saints game???

Post by MrPartridge »

Interesting dilemma for RC given that Fred and Owen are never usually fit at the same time.

Who do the forum want to see at 10 this Saturday? I'll take Fred… decent game against Saracens and kicking well. Also think OW probably needs a couple more games under his belt…

What do others think?

We cannot play without one :smt002 I would go with Owen, his physicality is badly needed against Saints :smt023

I think O'Connor is more important than which 10 we use.

The Saints back row has been very poor Dickinson, Harrison and Gibson are a second string unit so for O'Connor, McCafferey and whoever dons the 6 jersey they must look to dominate here..

Dickinson is not premiership standard yet imo..

If smithy is injured still and JDV not yet ready

10) Freddie
12) Williams
13) Betham.

Guessing we'll have Crane / Fonua at 8, BOC at 7 and McCaffrey or Fitz at 6

For the back row personally I'd go for BOC at 7 and McCaffrey and Pearce as 6 & 8. I'm not sure Fonua has done enough to merit the starting place yet.

Oops I forgot about Pearce...O'Connor will be at 7..and then McCafferey will be at 6 or 8 so it is then between Fonua, Pearce & Fitzgerald for me..I think Crane is just injury cover now (or I hope at least :smt003 )

If fit I'd put Williams at 10and give Burns a rest and have Tommy Bell on the subs bench. My team would be.

Backs Veianu, Thompstone, Betham, Smith, Goneva, Williams & Youngs B.

Forwards: Ayerza ,Youngs T, Cole, Slater, Fitzgerald, Croft, O'Connor,
and Pearce.

Subs: Thacker, Mullipola, Balmain, Kitchener, McCaffrey.
Harrison, Bell and Tait.

I think Fitz will come in at lock alongside Kitch. Let Barrow bring his aggression on for the last 20!
