Because they have Devoto and Ewels in the first team that qualify under this criteria..We only really have Thacker that has any top level experience..

Good point I wonder why none of them are mentioned or perhaps considered....

se also that henry Purdy is credited to Gloucester Academy. But the assessment could explain why changes were made to our young player development system, judge the effects in three or four years.

Could also say George Ford if he includes Sinckler.
And is basing it on producing talents and not just keeping them.
We have had who IMO could be classed as are products.
Ford
Steele
Catchpole
Brugnara
Pas
Purdy
Thacker
Had last year 5 Eng U20's players 2 of which were 18.

This is a subjective view from "talkingrugbyunion.co.uk" not really official or quantatively produced and will probably not make the Pulitzer shortlist.
I agree with some parts but not others.

I agree - it seems 'hit and miss'.
Fraser isn't mentioned, neither is Lewington.
However, it is no surprise in general to say that Tigers have not been bringing through as many academy graduates as perhaps they have in the past. This has been recognised by the Board, and hence the recent shake-up of the Academy management and coaching. Hopefully, this will bear fruit.

Re: Acadamies ranked
I agree Leicester will be low but just annoyed Bath are ahead of us.
Re: Academies ranked
I thought some of this article was pure hogwash and was probably written by a London Based journalist for whom I have the following advice, the world doesn't end at Watford Gap services you know.
Re: Academies ranked
Its no good having a good academy if you can' hang onto your players. for years Falcons were a production line for Tigers, LI have produced some fine academy players, they're mostly at Bath now.
For me the real success story is Exeter Chiefs, they've done a Saracens without having the financial clout of the London big gun.

Still, it seems that the Journo probably has it about right. Unpalatable though it might be for some.Noddy555 wrote:I thought some of this article was pure hogwash and was probably written by a London Based journalist for whom I have the following advice, the world doesn't end at Watford Gap services you know.

Ah, geographically embarrassed, Leicester is actually north of Watford Gap...Noddy555 wrote:I thought some of this article was pure hogwash and was probably written by a London Based journalist for whom I have the following advice, the world doesn't end at Watford Gap services you know.
