Bai and JDV will be gone at the end of the season and Toomua fills that gap without any need to speculate on Manu IMO.
Leicester Tigers 1995-
Nottingham 1995-2000
Swansea (Whites) 1988-95
A game played on grass in the open air by teams of XV.

Toomua coming would be the second marquee player (If case) so wouldn't count on cap.
Manu would never have been the second marquee only the first marquee slot.
But the cap is rising anyway.
Players out of contract next season:
Leo
Rizzo
Brugnara (?)
Tiz (?)
Slater
Croft?
Crane?
Loamanu
Youngs
Bai
JDV
Manu
Smith
Goneva
Thompstone (?)
Benjamin (?)
Camacho
I think that might be it not sure.

Salary cap rises to £6.5m for 2016/17 season, although 2 x Marquees (Manu/Toomua?) wouldn't be included in that anyway.grobyman wrote:4071 wrote:Toomua also plays FH, and it may be a farewell to whichever of Burns or Williams is considered surplus to requirements at the end of 2016.fortysix wrote:All this can surely only mean one thing---that Manu will not be playing for Tigers, either retired or signed on a ''Freddie deal'' to someone with mega finances available.
Logic says Tigers cannot afford to spend all their finances on TWO Centres ??
Hope I am wrong and Toomau is pencilled in at Full Back
Doesn't the salary cap jump up from 2016. I really can't remember what to though. Given ongoing contracts and current negotiations that could be doable to have both? Assuming of course that we have funds available!!

So there's plenty of flex I believe, depending on the club's other plans. So it doesn't HAVE to signify anything at all, we could keep Manu & another Marquee (poss Toomua) and Williams and Burns, maybe even Ben Youngs (should he wish to consider the offer that is rumoured to have been put in front of him) - potentially, unless we want to sensationalise and speculate aimlessly.
I suppose we also have to consider salary growth for other players coming to end of contracts, if we want them to stay.
Wait & see I guess.
Faithless is he that says farewell when the road darkens.

Toomua signs for us
According to the Sydney Morning Herald - we have signed Matt Toomua. However, looks like we won't seem him until next season.

On Twitter Fissler is saying that the headline is wrong and the article is correct suggesting he thinks he is Wasps bound.

Wouldn't surprise me if he just followed the French press on this one. Will S wrote:On Twitter Fissler is saying that the headline is wrong and the article is correct suggesting he thinks he is Wasps bound.

So the Herald thinks it's us and that makes a lot more sense than him
Watching us and that then signing for the insects
