Hard luck Scotland
To have Joubert reffing......as France found out four years ago.
Leicester Tigers 1995-
Nottingham 1995-2000
Swansea (Whites) 1988-95
A game played on grass in the open air by teams of XV.

Re: Hard luck Scotland
Would have liked the ref to check who the ball touched before awarding the last penalty. I thought that the final touch was from an Aussie therefore playing the Scot on-side. He must have known it was a big decision and surely a case for a video ref look whilst allowing the play to continue just like WB did yesterday.
Anyone else got thoughts as I have not recorded the match

Re: Hard luck Scotland
On the radio, they were highly critical of the way he sprinted off at the end with no handshakes or acknowledgement of the teams at all.
Re: Hard luck Scotland
The scots were robbed!
Re: Hard luck Scotland
Gavin Hastings apparently called the ref a disgrace on Radio5 Live. Got that one right Gavin!

+1
In my defence, I was left unsupervised….
Re: Hard luck Scotland
That should be the last we ever see of Joubert because he has laid himself wide open to at best , chronic indecision, and worst, favouritism....

Re: Hard luck Scotland
I agree they were robbed and Joubert has long been a bad ref.
The only good thing is we don't have to listen to Nicola Sturgeon crowing tomorrow!!

Re: Hard luck Scotland
Very tough on the Scots at the end and why the referee didn't check I don't know!
In all honesty Scotland lived off mistakes from a tired Australian side after their group exploits in my view.
The Australian's played some excellent rugby and created some superb tries.

Re: Hard luck Scotland
Whilst i dont rate Joubert as a top class referee, i have sympathy on that decision.
The Scottish prop forces a decision to be made by playing the ball in a probable offside position. He forces Joubert either to give a knock on or a penalty. He doesnt have the option to go to the TMO.

Re: Hard luck Scotland
Unlucky perhaps but the better side won in my view. As an aside they would have been insufferable had they one
Hambo :- He was with England when he was injured, but he was a Tigers player, our player. He is still our player.”

To Hastings and Dawson.
Maybe Joubert was dying for a pee - hence his rapid exit?

Re: Hard luck Scotland
There was an identical situation earlier in the game and he called it accidental offside. We can't have huge games decided like this on the interpretation of a ref.

Re: Hard luck Scotland
Because we have aTMO. Use it for all contentious calls. And watch the replay, there was an exact same situation which he called as accidental. Against Scotland. How can a ref make two different decisions for the same offence in the same matchBill W (2) wrote:Why not? It has ever been thus!
