Fissler rumour about Slater in TRP

Post by jgriffin »

Fissler has posted that Ed slater may be moving out when his contract expires in the summer. Hope it's just an agent fishing as I looked for Ed to become our next MJ.
Also reinforces the Bath rumour for YBY, which is reinforced as well with Ford being YBY's mate.

Perhaps we should start a thread called "Rumoured Leavers"

So at this juncture it is Manu, Yby and Slater ?

It's literally the laziest rumour I have heard and is not fit to go in the rumour thread.

Fiddler is basically saying he may leave as he is out of contract that's it no clubs linked no Slater is unhappy etc etc.

So far he's been largely right over a couple of years, i.e. his rumour plus score far outweighs his minus. I would be surprised if Tigers didn't give a contract extension UNLESS they make a chronic injury call.

Not saying he isn't usually right but all he is saying Salter is out of contract and therefore might leave.

You can say that about every player coming out of contract.

Not like he has mentioned Slater is looking or a club has approached him.

I would be gutted TBH, Slater to me has always been a central Tigers figure even when injured;likewise OTY, Marcos and Dan.

A good start to the season, and I do not think our club captain would have any thoughts about leaving. Any of our top players must be excited with the new coaching setup and rumoured approach to the game, and surely any temptation could only be financial, and from France rather than from one of the stigmatised clubs.

Agent tips of Fissler that player is OOC at end of season.

Fissler's column points out player is OOC at end of season to broader audience.

=>Agent gets his client out to a broader audience, DoRs etc... Sowing the seeds. Easier than phone calls.

You could always tweet him if you're on Twitter, because he is. I'm not a Twitter user myself.

If you look at Fissler's rumour to actual signing rate I am sure it is heavily in the positive..If he states someone is off somewhere 9 times out of 10 they are

However when he states things such as this when a player might be off when his deal ends that is just a page filler and as said previously maybe from said players agent to get some yarn spinning on him..

Slater would have to be fit first as would manu. I think we would be the only club that would be happy to buy a player with a pre existing serious injury. I'm sure clubs will only come in to buy these players after we have spent 12 months or more intensive rehab.

Maybe when a player gets a serious injury in the last year of the contract the club should be equally mercenary and say sign a contract extension or take your chances down at the royal with the rest of us

What about if he gets a serious long term injury at any any other time in his contract ie Manu, Camacho, Benjamin, Slater, Williams, Croft, Crane, Cole etc?

Or more interestingly parling or moody who spent many years of there time at tigers injured and yet moved on before the end of their careers...the latter citing disloyalty by the club.

No doubt Manu if he stays will demand massive sums of money and yet has been happy to sit on the treatment table for more than a year I think. We live in an interesting world in this proffessional sport business and it just seems to me that it is slightly stacked against the employer at the moment.
