Barritt

Post by amazing tiger »

i may be the only person thinking this but in my opinion he really did not have a good game. his defense was ok at the start but towards the end he was nowhere to be seen in defense. overall i think england didnt play that well but the ref did make some dodgy calls.

You are not the only person thinking that Barritt is a waste of en England shirt!
Nowadays referees decide matches, players by how much.

To be fair Barritt probably spent half his concentration minding Burgess, who was still unconvincing (as demonstrated by his aimless hoof to Liam Williams following YBY's break early in the second half).

Not exactly a Baritt fan but he was pretty stable IMHO. Acting as minder he can't be happy.
The one who surprised me by being absent was Lawes, was he knackered before the game?
At least I can go back to my mantra - club before country!

He shouldn't be minding another player in an international team, the others should be there on merit and doing their own job. I can understand it in club rugby but not on the international stage and especially in the World Cup.

I'm not Barritt fan but to be fair to him, he was babysitting whilst playing for England in a World Cup

no one disagrees with the sentiment but the reality was he was having to carry his centre partner

A task that he has had plenty of practise with, on the defensive side, with Manu and his rushing out of the line. I know the comparison is a bit odious, but Barritt was, IMHO, worse than can be explained by his babysitting duties.

Lancaster has picked Barritt, Launchberry and Morgan, who have hardly played much due to injury and possibly add in Burgess with little experience at International level and you have the makings of a disaster
