RWC Fanzone

Post by MrPartridge »

I've been meaning to post this for a while, but is anyone else baffled why the RWC fanzone at Victoria Park is only open for 7 days. Of course, I understand it runs from the start to finish of our WC fixtures at the King Power but why such a short stint?

England play Australia the day before it opens = madness! On a nice day I'd be tempted to go and watch that game there, ditto the knock-out phases. Looking at all the games in the tournament while the fanzone is going to be open I can't see one that is going to get anywhere near the advertised 5,000+ capacity. Gloucester's fanzone is near their docks and in a great place for pubs and restaurants… Victoria Park is remote and open to the elements…

On a similar RWC theme: interesting article in the Daily Mail re: LCFC v Sunderland at the weekend and LCFC's decision not to promote the RWC games they are hosting. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/articl ... adium.html

All a bit of a bad joke really…
