Further progress. The scaffolding tower has been extended upward to serve as a delivery platform for the top floor. No doubt the crane will be brought back in and there will be further deliveries of bathroom units, etc. Looking forward to trying a pint in the 'sky bar' on a sunny evening after a winning home game

Steady progress continues. Much of the external cladding and windows are in place and the lifting tower has been dismantled allowing access to the rest of the SE elevation for installation of the outer skin. It shouldn't be too long before they start to glaze the atrium.

I was hoping the club would expand of the expected commercial income (if any) from the hotel itself, other than the benefits it brings to the use of stand facilities as a conferencing venue. In the recent interview with the CEO it was stated that the lack of an accommodation offer has been a big hold back on the development of this type of business. Within the next couple of years it should start to make a regular contribution to the bottom line which, following recent times, will be very welcome.

Cheers Noggs. Having lived opposite the Granby Halls (house no longer there, now part of the Infirmary car park) from age 8 to 18, when Aylestone Road and Welford Road were two-way roads, it fascinating how much some things have changed in the area. I look forward to seeing it all when it's finished.

For those who didn't watch "Re-shaping Leicester Tigers" Andrea did give an update on the hotel development, saying that they're working towards a May? 2022 opening (correct me if wrong).

8 of the 10 levels of scaffolding have been built on the SE elevation. Once completed they can proceed with the installation of cladding and windows making the building weather tight. A mobile tower crane was used earlier this week to lift more large pallets onto the roof.

Not travelling into the city I am not sure whether they have started to 'unwrap' the building elevations facing the roads. I am interested to see the final look of the building as there have been a number of changes to the planning submission over time.

Yes they do amazing things at A&E Leicester Royal but you must have really big broken toe for it to be wrapped up!

Man up, lash it to the next ones with duct tape, and play on!
We had one guy in the 2nds lose his foot, lashed it back on using gaffa tape and he managed another 15 mins before exsanguination caught up with him.

If this is a serious question then the answer is probably the weather. Sudden swerves in temperature and frosts can play havoc with cement based mixtures such as concrete and mortar.
