Just to put the construction of the new stand into reality,
the newly seeded pitch is now taller than the new stand and the pitch has been cut a few times.. Sods law! it will be late.

White lines are appearing. Let's hope Baron Sewel doesn't see them :smt003

Just looked at the saints Facebook page and their new Barwell stand is coming on nicely but looking like a meccano set at the moment.

A bit on the small side though at 1900 seats :smt003

To quote:

Since 2001 the stadium has been expanded three times from a capacity of just under 10,000 to 13,591, with the site being developed from an old wooden Members' Stand, small terrace and temporary stands into a purpose-built venue that is the envy of rugby clubs throughout the country and a place which receives rave reviews from the media.

The time has come to expand Franklin's Gardens once more. The new Barwell Stand will take the capacity over 15,500, representing the single biggest leap in capacity in the history of Franklin's Gardens.

Not sure about the boasts :smt009

15,500? Maybe Saffers and Bath and envious.

Rave reviews from the media?

Insofar as their own website is part of the media I suppose that is true.

Going back to our new stand I see we are still not out of the ground. I also note that completion will now be in late January rather than 'for Christmas' as I believe was said previously. Still, better late than never hey :smt023

Bill, surely you're not suggesting further column inches of this subject? Perhaps we should steel away quietly before anyone reads this rubbish :smt003

Farbeit from me to make suggestions regarding the new stand and the new hospitality suite.

Very little action visible on the webcam though.

I am sure Lindleys (or whatever they are called now) will have a plan to cope!

Does appear to be fairly slow progress at the minute although I suspect they are piling the foundations so not much to see.

I did notice that in the shareholders advice letter (ref Tom Scott) they have insurance against the development company (via QBE) so presumably that means they are covered on the ticket sales should the stand not be ready for the start of the season proper. Lost revenue will be protected.

Maybe they've found some underground cellars and stairways. Oh no, sorry, that was the bus station :smt003
