More progress but they will have to remove the scaffolding before we can get a decent feel for what it is going to look like. There may well be some changes from the last planning submission.

I had the chance to walk past the ground last wee and noted that there was no apparent base in the new paving for a support for the bridge between the hotel and the stand. perhaps it is not going ahead.

They've made a start on removing the scaffolding. The slow reveal begins :smt001

More of the wrapping coming off on the ground side. If i is followed by removal of the scaffolding we will begin to get a better idea of what the final building is going to look like. :smt023

Top floor now fully revealed giving a reasonable idea of what the finished hotel is going to look like. Quite smart.

Noticed that the Chief's hotel is due for completion around the same time as ours (Spring 2022).

If you go on Google Maps and look at it there is a reasonable view from the air. Street view just shows a lot of scaffolding primarily.

Those images are well out of date, I'm afraid

Slightly better than Google Earth which still shows the car park before the hotel construction started and better than TigerFeet Steve’s webcam view this time of night!

I follow the progress on the webcam.

If you want to see what it is (perhaps) going to look like when finished you can see all the floor plans and elevation drawings by visiting the city council web site (go to planning applications) and following the directions. It takes a bit of navigating the first time :smt001

Things are continuing to go well. If you visit the webcam the external construction elevator on the south end has been dismantled and the sheeting and scaffold remove to reveal he top four floors. It looks like it will be a smart building when completed. :smt023

Those at the Sale game may well have seen that one of the elevations facing the North Stand concourse is now fully exposed with all the scaffolding removed. Today they are beginning the construction of the link bridge between the hotel and the stand which will allow direct access for conference and similar events in the future. I believe this will prove to be a very attractive facility to potential customers and in turn the increase in this type of usage will prove to be a great revenue stream for the club for many years to come.

Clearly as a club we have a big hole in the finances following the lock downs but this is a big positive in the road back to financial recovery.
