Just announced on Twitter.

Sad news and leaves Tigers stretched at centre.

Sad news indeed, and it leaves us with the need/opportunity to make a big signing, IF there the right person is out there.
Will Ant get a testimonial?
Not sure what, if any rules there are for this, but I think he deserves one.
According to the Merc, he would like to coach. Whether Leicester Uni has the wherewithal to employ him is an interesting question.

Very sad news. A great Tiger.

This leaves a very big hole to fill.

I would wish him good luck in whatever he does next (hopefully with the Tigers in some capacity).

No wonder we've been putting off getting a new centre until we can get 'the best' - he was always the glue that held everything else together. The first back on the team sheet. My personal opinion is forget all the SH hype and go and spend money and get Brad Barritt, who can also do the same things.

One thing's for certain - Manu has always been far better with AA inside him.

This has been rumoured for a while now, but confirmation is very sad news. It is desperate news for him at such a relatively young age.
Also, for Tigers in trying to fill the hole that he leaves. He has been a huge miss for Tigers this season - there is no-one in the squad with his skills of organisation and intelligence in reading the game.
He will be so difficult to replace.

It would be great if he does have a role at the Club in the future, but would like to wish him all the best for whatever he does.

Thanks Ant and good luck for the future.

All the best for the future, Ant. Really upsetting news.

I guess that is why we signed Olivier. Barrett IMHO is not in the same league as Allen and would cost far more. I personally would be happy to see how Olivier gets on with us before we make another signing.

this is a real shame, but if we are honest the signs were there. Hopefully we can bring some guys through, Olivier will perform, and if needed we can pick up a quality 12/13 after the RWC.

Wish Ant well in the future with whatever he choses to do, hopefully he will be looked after in his transition into a 'normal' day job.
cheers

A lethal player with huge organisational skills, all of which were mistakenly underrated by England, but thankfully not at Tigers!

Total class.

I could not agree more, wonderful player and a really nice bloke. Now he will need some replacing, if indeed we do try and replace like for like!
