Manu Tuilagi to Saracens!
The Rugby Paper reporting Sarries could table a bid to sign Manu
(almost choked on my toast)
It goes on to state as he has a year left on his contract Tigers would demand a large transfer fee however, even if there is little prospect of him signing an extension at Welford Road.
Finally it rounds up with Sarries want to sign him but doing this deal before the start of next season maybe problematic so they may have to wait until the new year when Tuilagi is in the last 6 months of his contact to tempt him for 2016-17 season..
Some of you may think this is sensationalist reporting but Fissler is right more times than he is wrong..Why would Manu not want to stay with the club that raised him? This would make me question what is going on at Tigers to sell our standout player whilst still in his early twenties to a rival is just unheard of...PS Please note I am as yet not questioning what is going on merely stating this would cause me to (for the Happy Clappers)

Re: Manu Tuilagi to Saracens!
The key words here may well be COULD and BID.
If you don't ask you don't get but doesn't mean you do get!

I don't understands why you immediately turn this round against the Tigers management: "What's going on at Tigers?". Why would anyone be surprised that Manu is a massive transfer target as he gets to the end of his contract?

Re: Manu Tuilagi to Saracens!
Having read it I would say a lot is just obvious pretty much every club with money will be after Manu next season.
It says Manu might want a fresh start, but nothing concrete.

Sarries also bid big trying to tempt Dan Cole a couple of years back. They have the funds to go big on marquee signings so they will. They need to ad something to their midfield and so they want Manu with Bosch likely to head to Argentina when his contract is up.
We just need to sort Manu's contract nice and early. Ditto Slater.

Re: Manu Tuilagi to Saracens!
As far as I am aware, Manu couldn't be a marquee signing as he currently plays and always has played in the Premiership. Realistically, Sarries shouldn't be able to offer him much more than he is on now, but of course, we all know Sarries can offer anyone any amount of money and get away with it

Manu can't be a marquee signing.

Agreed but he is at present faster in the car than his feet!RagingBull wrote:Manu can't be a marquee signing.
Or is it he just loves going to court?

Re: Manu Tuilagi to Saracens!
From a financial perspective, Manu's consideration is that he really lost the vast majority of his international earnings for more than two years now. That is a very significant amount of his earnings.
Will he be around for the next world cup when he will be in his 29th year ?
I would say France is his obvious choice from a financial perspective given his injury record.

Good point on the marquee. Sarries still have no issue paying big for other teams English stars see Ashton from Saints and Vunipola from Wasps.
Japan would be a better bet for Manu. Shorter season and big cash. France is a tough league, Japan adds years to players careers.

Re: Manu Tuilagi to Saracens!
Really?! His current reported salary is £200-£250,000 per year. Whatever his international earnings amount that he has lost, I'm sure he doesn't need to move to France to get more money. I'm sure he survive on £200,000 a year!!
Re: Manu Tuilagi to Saracens!
We shouldn't forget this is Manu's job, and with his injuries (and style of play) it may not be a long career. If I was on a 2 or 3year contract, I would be looking at alternatives even if I had no intention of leaving.
The fans will be a huge part of any decision, so let's get behind him and show him how valued he is.

Nowadays referees decide matches, players by how much.
Re: Manu Tuilagi to Saracens!
Maybe time for Tigers to cash some chips in?
