Message to Cockerill and the team

Post by ellis9 »

Today, you gave everything, you gave it 100%, you tried your very best. We were beaten by a very clinical team.

This season has probably been one of, if not, the toughest season in our very successful and proud history. We had injuries to the extent that no other club could have dealt with but you never gave up. There were many doubters, from the media, other clubs fans and unfortunately, a sprinkling of our own fans. You chose to ignore all of them, gave your full commitment and never gave up.

I know that each and every single one of you will be as disappointed as myself and all the other Tigers fans. Each and every single one of you can hold your heads high and be proud, we may not have achieved what we set out to at the start of the season, which was winning the Premiership but wow, you fought right to end of the regular season and got us into an 11th straight semi final. In the semi final, you fought right until the end and for that I and many other fans are very proud and thankful.

You all deserve a chilled out, relaxed break over the Summer. To the players that are leaving us and moving on to your new clubs or retiring, good luck and all the very best for the future and thank you for being part of this fantastic club. Thank you to every single player, coach and staff for never giving up at any point this season.

Next season will see us have a new head coach and new players to the already fantastic players and coaches we have at the club. The fans will once again, be right behind you every step of the way.

With a full strength, fully fit squad next season, I believe we, the best supported and most successful club in English rugby, Leicester Tigers, can go all the way and be Champions of England again, for the 11th time!

Agree with the vast majority of your post ellis9 but would suggest coaching staff need to start planning for the next campaign asap as the players will need to get to grips with the new plans before the start of next season.

Totally agree
If winning isn't everything, why do they bother keeping score?
