The salary cap breachers final

Post by Latecomer »

Interesting that the two teams in the final next week both stand accused of breaching the salary cap. Maybe cheats do prosper after all?

Bath coaching admitted they'd been done and had to reduce playing side next season when asked directly by Mrs G ages ago. They also named the team that has admitted it, Saffacens.
We have never been good enough all season, and it showed. However Bath golden era? Only if Craig gets the cap removed. The AP is more wide open than ever IMHO.

Money does seem to talk, look at France, if the clubs are guilty and have been allowed to get away with it, I trust there is some sort of plan for the future.

Congrats indeed to the Chelsea and Man City of English rugby. Nicely bought, sorry, played.

Uhm :smt017 NO!! Tigers allegedly amongst other premiership clubs including Saints voted for the investigation to be suspended. The Salary Cap is no longer policed.

My understanding ius that whilst it was suspended so as not to complicate this seasons results it has not been abandoned and is indeed ongoing.

So my suggestion is a real possibility.

You may be right Bill, this is a quote from Damian Hopley RPA Chief Exec

"Any decision on an alleged breach this season would have to be reached before the final round of regular-season games on May 16 in order to become effective this term"

I'd be very surprised if anything comes of the investigation, if either side is found guilty will they take the trophy away from them? Will they compensate all the people that paid to watch the final, and what would be the effect on sponsorship. Most likely just gets swept under the carpet.
