I guess it all depends on whether Cockers thinks Lower Manu can put 80 minutes in. I'm sceptical!

Also, what's the latest on Ant Allen?
Mercury lists Allen as still injured in article tonight.
We could have a very square-shaped peg in a round hole on Saturday.
Ant: crocked
Bai: probably banned
Catchpole: 13 but could move inside
Hepetema: who?
Roberts: recovering but possibly not ready for defensive duties in such a key game?
Pohe: already gone?
Williams: crocked
Manu (could possibly do a job at inside centre): crocked

Am I missing anyone? Shazzam? Thacker?

Could we see A Loamanu / Goneva combo (big gaps in that combo) or Loamanu / Smith pairing?
IMHO, Loamanu has yet to prove he can play 80 minutes and makes an ideal impact sub.
How about Bell at 10 & Freddie at 12?
I feel like I'm missing something obvious! :smt017
Hepetema is injured.

Guess Start with Loamanu and Tait

Have Bell and Catchpole on the bench?

Grrrr.
I'm torn. On one hand, he deserves a ban, on the other, look at Billy V's 'clear out' on Tait and tell me where the consistency is. :smt013
Am I getting a bit 'Cyclops'?

Yes, you are - the two are hardly comparable.

Matt Smith has played 12, so he'd be an option. But it's definitely looking 'square page/round hole' whatever we do. Loamanu isn't really a regular centre, let alone an inside centre, and every other 12 option we have is injured. Apart from Pohe, but he's clearly not going to be picked.

Another new centre pairing for the rest of the season, then.

Oli Bryant? Be a bit of an outside bet...

Have to say that the resultant ban is just about right - 3 weeks - effectively ruling him out for the rest of the season if we were lucky enough to get to the final but he will be available for the start of the prem season next year because of the friendlies and the northern cup. Yes there have been other eg's that have escaped bans but this one was so long after Barnes' whistle - impossible to miss it.

Also think that RC wil defo go with Tate and Loamanu for the saints game!
Hehehehehehehehe

Didn't know Roberts played for Rotherham this weekend.

Don't expect him to feature though.

Sorry Seremaia but the punishment is about right, you must have had a rush of blood or something similar. Acts like that are unacceptable in the modern game.

not many people have actually mentioned that Bai led with his arm and it was that that moved Hughes head. I was not impressed by Hughes immediate reaction, after looking at Barnes rather sheepishly knowing that he was in breach of the rules by smothering the ball and being off his feet and probably thinking at the time it was he who was going to get the yellow card. Hughes then, when he saw Barnes indicating at Bai then rolled out of the maul and did an impression of the dying fly from tiswas, imitating what soccer players do every game. The replays usually stop before that display. I think Barnes got it right with the yellow, it was the TMO that said red and did not show Hughes showboating. We also did not see Hughes going off for concussion assessment or leave the pitch for a blood injury, he was that seriously injured. Bai was reckless and at the time his actions were unnecessary and a yellow card was deserved but should not have been needed if Barnes and the TMO did their job unbiased and properly. Before you indignantly answer just watch the slomo replays and freeze the frames at the moment of the torpedo like impact and you will agree. Even the tv commentators on the rugby show said as much. We need Bai for bath and Twickers in a fortnights time.

I make no comment on the tackle, but have you, as APJones asked "Before you indignantly answer just watch the slomo replays and freeze the frames at the moment of the torpedo like impact and you will agree."? Just asking.
