The word in midi olympique states that Mamuka Gorgodze will be released from Toulon soon...
Reckon he could end up at Saints or Bath perhaps or is he likely to stay in France...?
Also Frans Steyn likely to join Spies at Montpellier according to Spies himself
Fearns now confirmed to Lyon http://www.planetrugby.com/story/0,2588 ... 74,00.html unlucky he is a very good powerful player must be frustrating to be usurped by Burgess

Bordeaux seems to be the favourites for Gorgodze.
So much for transfer deadlines.
Although i guess free agents wouldn't count.
Montpellier non French XV could look like this:
1) Nariashvili, 2) Bismarck Du Plessis 3) Jannie Du Plessis
4) Jacque Du Plessis, 5) Willemse
6) Moran, 7) Liebenberg, 8) Spies
9) White, 10) Catrakilis
12) Steyn, 13) Ebersohn
11) Tuitavake, 14) Nagusa, 15) Mogg
16) ?, 17) Adriaanise, 18) Van der Merve, 19) Donnelly, 20) Qera, 21) Wright, 22) Lucas, 23) Nakailagi

Would Montpellier be able to put together a French XV/XXIII?RagingBull wrote:Bordeaux seems to be the favourites for Gorgodze.

Nope only have 15 2 are hookers and 2 are Full backs
Re: 2014/15 Rumours/Contracts/Signings part 4
I must say, I'm totally unimpressed with the lack of any backs coming in so far, aside from Betham. With Allen potentially retiring, Manu unpredictable, Roberts and Catchpole learning the trade and Bai & Loamanu on the fringes, it doesn't strike the fear into anyone does it ? Unless Mauger has a couple of post World Cup gems up his sleeve it could be a long season.

Patience. I expect we will hear more after the Super Rugby has concluded.
Olivier sounds like a done deal.

Betham has pace TBF.fortysix wrote:We.the long suffering Tigers Supporters await with bated breath for the long awaited announcement of any back with a modicum of pace.................
Re: 2014/15 Rumours/Contracts/Signings part 4
RB, problem is , if we want to compete in the Champions Cup and the Top 4 Premier, which I presume is our objective, we need at least 3 more with something called pace, against the Top teams.....
Betham OK, but who else?
Benjamin possible but he isnt a guaranteed starter.
Goneva is a shoe in, but his performances last season were not anywhere near 2013/4
Tuilagi, will he be fit ?
Roberts/ Catchpole, spritely but not Varndell quick..
Bai, Loamanu. Thompstone, ahem, forceful but not going to bother the top teams
Tait Morris Smith Allen Camacho( !! ) el al too slow....
Just being totally realistic, otherwise 2015/6 will just be like the last few years....
With quick backs our dominant front 5 would be 100% better...

Thompstone is probably the fastest guy in our squad (Betham might change that now though)and Tait and Comacho are no slouches

Thompstones try against the Maoris in that video shows his pace, also note Morris's pace for his 2nd try
