Bayonne lost again. Facing a pretty much must win match at home to La Rochelle.

Cockers is saying he might not be going to Bayonne now and is looking at options to keep him. Wouldn't mind keeping him even just for a season.

Would leave us looking at a 9 and 12 if it was happen.

Would be happy with a set up like:

9) Youngs, Harrison, ?/Tresidder
10) Burns, Williams, Bai, Bell
12) ?, Allen, Bai, Roberts
13) Manu, Tait, Loamanu, Catchpole, Smith, Camacho
11/14) Betham, Goneva, Thompstone, Morris, Benjamin, Camacho, Loamanu, Smith
15) Tait/Morris, Bell, Betham, Loamanu

With us looking at the Likes of Bryant, R.Williams, Odogwu to potentially replace the older players the season after.

I'd be tempted to go into the season with the three scrum halves we have there and then sign an experienced head with injury dispensation if we pick up an injury close to an international window. There's generally a squad player who can be acquired for a month or two.

I'd hold off on another 12 until Mauger has had a look at Roberts, Bryant and Thacker the even younger. Plenty of potential there behind Allen and Bai. Only a real issue of Allen is likely to be out for a long period again.

The squad is looking good we need to secure the players we have and then look at X factor players. Position is not so important. We have Quality in each department (if Tait stays) getting it all fit and then adding a big game player is what I'd like to see.

If Tait doesn't sign we need another 15.

I got your point re 12 but IMO there is a very realistic chance Allen and Bai will be off next season.

IMO thinking something like this.

Next season
?, Allen, Bai, Roberts

Season after
?, Allen/Roberts, Bryant

2016/17
?, Roberts, Bryant, Thacker

Would be a good way of doing considering Thacker is only 18 ATM.

Guess it will largely be down to who is about I guess.

don't discount Loamanu at 12, he's played really well there and once Williams gets back he could move there permanently, especially if Freddie carries on playing this well with another 10 brought in

I think Mauger will be looking for more creativity and as 10 is settled with Burns and Williams, he may be looking for someone new at 12 or 15. After recent performances, I would be happy to see Tait at 13 (when Manu not available).

Interesting comments. Tait's clearly much more comfortable at centre too.

Agree that Mauger will look at the creative approach but we have Bai who is a midfield general and who has played 10 and also Bryant who represented England under 20s at 10 (the guy has amazing hands).

RagingBull that would be interesting if it worked out that way. I think it may depend on what Mauger thinks when he gets here. He helped guide Allen and Twelvetrees through when he was a player. If he could do something similar with the guys we already have then why spend big?

@Richard de Cockerill - this is a no brainer - get it sorted!
Nowadays referees decide matches, players by how much.

If Cockers can retain him I think he will. Quality utility players like that don't come along often and it would solve the fullback hunt.

I suspect that behind the scenes Cohen, Cockerill et al will be trying to work a solution to keep Tait @ WR.

Manu at 12 with Tait at 13 would be very tasty in my opinion!
