Saints v Wasps referee

Post by L Smith »

The referee in the Saints v Wasps game looks like he should be playing Quidditch: not refereeing a televised AP game! Who's going to take over after 9pm?

Just made an absolute howler of a decision as well. Hughes red card, don't know what he was meant to do he was running flat out and looked to be trying to stop more than anything. Game changing decision and could be decisive in Wasps top 4 challenge, they are not going to be happy.....

That is not a red card, wrong decision from both him and the 4th official.
"If you want entertainment, go to the theatre," says Edinburgh head coach Richard Cockerill. "Rugby players play the game to win.15/1/21.

Making some big calls. I won't argue as it helps saints though.

West winding up the wasps management.

Looked like a kick to the head to me.

Too often you see sly hits after a player scores a try and is unprotected.

A kick requires a boot.

For me he was adjusting himself and slowing down, North head moved and it was then in the way and to late for him to adjust.

Game over for Wasps now IMO.

Hopefully won't get a LBP or TBP.

Ref having a hard time. Shame as we need more young refs coming through. Made a howler IMO but the TMO didn't help - or his AR.

By the way pathetic original post.

The red card was wrong. I think the tmo was trying to change the refs mind. Shame as it will spoil a good game. A saints win is no bad thing all considered. Did i really say that? Just hope north is ok

Poor display so far. If you're good enough, you're old enough. On tonight's display, he's... Erm... Not old enough!
Regarding Hughes, I think he did a good job of making it look accidental but he had no need to be where he was.
On a slight tangent, if Myler had slotted following the red card, would it have been 2 or 3 points? I kind of know the answer but I am looking for the technical reason why it would be 2 points.

Actually he could have allowed the conversion - 2pts and restarted with a penalty (potential 3pts)
