Good news. Last paragraph re Thompstone is also encouraging as long as he wants to stay.
I am neither clever enough to understand nor stupid enough to play this game

Have to admit I don't know much about either although I have heard good things about Fitzgerald, what are peoples thoughts regarding Bateman?

Typical Hooker good scurmmanger, has lack game time recently but a very good 3rd/4th choice Hooker.

Agreed and he didn't do his chances with us any harm at all on Sunday!

Does the Bateman signing suggest we will see Thacker moved to 7? He's far too talented to be a 4th choice hooker.

Since season is delayed until after group stages of World Cup then I imagine Italy will be out by then. So 2nd choice.

I think it is likely. Also I have impressed by our other young hooker Farnworth. So it could work for all parties.

According to his profile he also made several appearances for Welsh (during their first Premiership visit) at Prop, so a versatile front rower. Good to have around during the RWC where we're could conceivably have, in the worst case, 6 front rowers away on International duty.
