We broke Tom, so he was never going to be leaving us, a bit like when Brett Deacon had the same problem with an injury. We break 'em we mend 'em, that's why we who we are, we look after loyal players who show the right attitude.
"If you want entertainment, go to the theatre," says Edinburgh head coach Richard Cockerill. "Rugby players play the game to win.15/1/21.

Is that the same Brett Deacon that moved to Glous?

We hear of all these quality forwards leaving, Parling, Gibson, and Thorn now retiring when are we going to hear about some QUALITY replacements.

You've been around long enough to know that Tigers are usually late at announcing signings, although we may hear via the Merc.

Also, when Parling and Gibson joined, would you have classed them as QUALITY? Potential quality yes, but definite quality? Tigers rarely recruit at the top end of the market, which I assume is what you are wanting.

Try telling that to Lewis Moody.

Is there really any point discussing that again?

Is this guy a specialist ie backs, forwards? If he is a backs coach, are the rumors regarding Geordan and Wasps true ??
Bit more detail here plus a quote.

Sounds up for it!

From what I've seen, Mike Fitzgerald (Chiefs) is a lock of real quality, in the mould of Luis Deacon/Brad Thorn, but younger, fitter and faster. I think he'll make a big impression.

It doesn't tell us anything about his style of rugby, but I guess this clip shows the same Scott Hansen that will be joining us.

Not seen it mentioned yet, Simon Cohen said on the rugby hour that Peter Betham from the Waratahs and Lachlan McCaffrey from Welsh are not a million miles away from signing. Clearly he wouldn't mention them if they weren't already a done deal. I'm excited to see Betham, from what I've seen he looks real top quality, pace, power and athleticism and can cover 15. He also mentioned Niall Morris is pretty much signed on to stay and Salvi and Barbieri will likely be off.

A friend of mine who lives over there and is a chiefs fan, tells me that this guy Fitzgerald is the real deal, he is quick, has very good hands and offloads very well.
He says that there has been a lot of speculation with him moving on and the fans are pleased for him, but a but "naffed off" to be losing him.

He will make a big impact on your team is what I am told !

Not many Locks in New Zealand play 6 as well which show be a indicator of his raw atributes, a great signing IMO.

In regards to the Peter Betham signing, which is almost completed, there are lots of people who are pleased about it because he is a big name signing. I do not mean for this to sound negative as it really isn't but is he really a big name signing? I like to think I know a lot about rugby and know a lot of players but until we were linked with him, I had never heard of him.

It doesn't bother me that I haven't heard of him as I am not one of those people demanding a big name signing as I believe Cockerill is one of, if not the best, at bringing in relatively unknown players and making them big name quality players.
