England-Penalties
You'd think pro players would train to instinctively not go in at the side, clearly English ones don't.

Yes but Irish ones know they won't get pinged at home!tigerburnie wrote:You'd think pro players would train to instinctively not go in at the side, clearly English ones don't.

Re: Penalties
Pity our 10 can't kick from hand , doesn't help either.

Re: England-Penalties
Very one sided from the Ref. England making to many silly mistakes, but the ref really isn't helping. Gutted and very fed up!
Re: England-Penalties
Picking a back three who are suspect under the high ball in Ireland is not a great start.
Still don't rate Lancaster as a coach when it comes to the crunch matches.

Re: England-Penalties
Shouldn't we be trying to get tries rather than go for the posts? Huge amounts of frustration here.
Re: England-Penalties
Am I too biased towards England? I thought that was a try to England, and the scrum decision was surely favouring the Irish?
Re: England-Penalties
Probably the worst referring performance I have seen, biased beyond belief!!
Re: England-Penalties
Was the pass forward? I couldn't really see.
Re: England-Penalties
Ref said it was and it does not really make any difference. Again a fail in the crunch matches.
Re: England-Penalties
The ref just wanted to call time, not interested in the replay funnily enough, very bizarre officiating, needs to be reviewed!!
Re: England-Penalties
I've seen a lot worse than that, a few strange decisions but I don't think he affected the result of that game.baz1664 wrote:Probably the worst referring performance I have seen, biased beyond belief!!
Re: England-Penalties
Ireland have had two homer refs on the trot. This is why they don't progress at the WC, their persistent infringing gets found out, as does the ABs (except when the ref helps them to win the WC).
Having said that, England were unbalanced and our criticisms of Nowell and Goode selections justified; indeed there are perhaps 10/23 that need looking at. Cipriani should start the next game.

Not sure about the ref, England made it very easy for the ref at times.jgriffin wrote:Ireland have had two homer refs on the trot. This is why they don't progress at the WC, their persistent infringing gets found out, as does the ABs (except when the ref helps them to win the WC).

Not sure any of the backs came out of the game with much credit.

Re: England-Penalties
The ref was a homer, but England gave that away, stupid long kicks that gave Ireland all the time in the world. There's a few players that did not turn up today, poor rucking too. Daft bench with no proper locks on the field for the last quarter. Apart from the lack of height competing for the high ball, I thought Goode and Nowell were ok, gave us some go forwards in the loose. Hartley was exposed today as offering nothing and Marler seemed quiet.
