First of all, thanks to RagingBull for giving me the biggest laugh I've had on this forum all season - brilliant !!
Secondly, I too had been thinking about the look of the pitch yesterday, ie poor, and was thinking how I might frame my comments given that it's been a dry and warm autumn and winter so far (OK, I know it's been a bit nippy since Xmas). Couldn't think that our grounds-man would want things as they are so I was pleased to see Iain's comments on here. If the stage was put there, no wonder he's mad about.
But it's not only the stage area that's bad.
Next time you are at a home game, have a look around the whole playing surface: it doesn't look great and we are only just over half way through the season - is that concert the whole answer ?
Presumably the development of the Clubhouse end will make the grounds-man's job even more difficult as even less sunlight and wind will get in .
Perhaps an artificial pitch might not be a bad idea ?? Might improve our back play ??!!

whilst we have better forwards than backs it may not be a bad surface for us
possibly why our home form is considerably better than the away form at the moment
Long term maybe the hybrid pitch will be the option as it is unlikely that the sun/air situation will improve as the stadium continues to develop
I wonder if the real change will come when the crumbie stand is developed, as it is then that the posibility of the pitch being widened becomes a possibility. So it is then that the complete change to the pitch structure can happen.
Not sure why the stage for the concert wasn't put accross the terrace - surely not beyond the wit of some basic mechano style engineering

The replacement turf was actually very thick when it arrived, and with that side of the ground getting very little sunlight, it has not taken very well at all.

You should have seen it first thing on Saturday, it was holding water and needed forking to allow the water to run away. Never mind, we don't use the wings anyway !!!!

In what world is the repairs to the pitch "already done" !?

We'd be more successful renting the ground to Leicester Allotment Association than a gig promoter as it stands!
