A bigger ground than WR!!
But Goode was man of the match - in front of a record Premiership crowd of 28,254 at a recognised home ground.
How long will this last??

As long as they can continue to give out free tickets aka Saracens the similarity in marketing strategy is remarkable.WiggoTiger wrote:But Goode was man of the match - in front of a record Premiership crowd of 28,254 at a recognised home ground.

3000 free tickets given away and over 25000 tickets sold is quite an achievement in my opinion. As long as they can continue to give out free tickets aka Saracens the similarity in marketing strategy is remarkable.
I expect numbers could be up and down for a while but it's a start.

Re: A bigger ground than WR!!
There is a good market for rugby in the west mids. A few from our club, in Solihull, went to the match. Us, Saints and Worcester are just that bit too far away. I think they will do fairly well. Sarries have never come close to selling 25000 at their place. It's all good, in my opinion, it's way better watching a game with a good crowd

So we should be setting a Prem record crowd in May then at The Ricoh and they won't need to give away 3000 freebies!!

Nope!northerntiger wrote:Don't think they have come close to 10000 either
It's going to be interesting how the Wasps move works.
Re: A bigger ground than WR!!
How do you think it will affect Tigers long term?
Another Midlands rivalry for sure. Although my son was watching and was jumping up and down supporting wasps (brother even bought him back a flag).. He is only 5 and doesn't watch much but it may be I cannot change him when older... Maybe I should take him to a Tigers match next year to straighten his alligence (sic).
We was all going to go up on the final day of the season but my mum and dad who don't support a club may well end up supporting wasps. I am worried I am all of a sudden going to be a solitarian.

Re: A bigger ground than WR!!
Corich, he is your son and 5, Christmas is just around the corner, I think with the correct conversation with your lad, using veiled threats (daddy doesn't buy Wasp fans present, it hurts daddy's feelings we can't wear the same rugby tops to games ect) he will be tigers by Boxing Day...covrich wrote:How do you think it will affect Tigers long term?

Not sure what to do about your parents?? You could try emotional blackmail.."sorry mum and dad, but well you grandson loves you but only if you support tigers". Obliviously, if mum and dad help with child care, tread carefully. You don't want to be rocking the boat to capsize mind you! But remember, be strong and parents love grandchildren more than you..that's from experience...good luck!
There is never any points for 2nd place...
Re: A bigger ground than WR!!
More fool you for taking him to Wasps - call yourself a real Tigers supporter?
Yours faithfully
A Tigers Fan for 110 years
NB my Stains-in-law had access to 10 free tickets from a firm he does business with, for the Ricoh but declined - there were a LOT of corporates flying around apparently.
The true test will be in a few weeks time after Xmas.
I hope they do get a regular 10K crowd though, it's good for rugby and they have done really well under Dai Young to crawl out of the mire to become a force again.

Re: A bigger ground than WR!!
Presumably the "London double header" is now a dead duck. Oxford Welsh will go down, so the only club with "London" in their title will not be available as a replacement.

Re: A bigger ground than WR!!
If they really sold 25,000 tickets I would like to know for how much?
I am sure we could sell a few more if they were only a fiver.
It remains to be seen what their books look like at the end of the season.
I could say good luck to them but afterall, they are the pests and we have long memories.
