A Call to Arms

Post by TigerTom15 »

This is a call to arms. The players may not be keeping their end of the bargain on the pitch, but us fans can certainly do whatever out takes to help them.
The atmosphere at WR has been pretty poor a lot of the time this season. I’m tired of sitting there with the ground in virtual silence for large parts of the game. We need to show the players we are 100% behind them from minute 1 on Sunday. We need to cheer every tackle, every run, and every scrum. We need to scream at the Toulon superstars that this our house, and we will win!
Don’t say, ‘we need something to cheer about on the pitch’ because we don’t. We need can make a difference, and we have done it before. We need to recreate the atmospheres of Toulouse in the snow in 12/13 and the SA game in 2009. This is a must win game. If we lose, we are out.
This is the field where 39-year-old Brad can haul his 18 stone, creaking body halfway across the pitch to smash a Wasps player into touch to win the game. We need to show the same kind of commitment and Tiger spirit in the stands. Let’s make Welford Road a bear pit!
And some can say, ‘Well it’s not fair, Toulon have all those euros. They have an unfair advantage.’ But I think that, this week, it is Toulon who are at a disadvantage. They have to contend with 125 years of heritage, and of history. They have to deal with 24,000 passionate Leicester fans baying for their blood. They have to put up with the TIGER ROAR.
It’s time to stand up and be counted. Let’s get behind the players, show them how much it means and make a difference!

"If you want entertainment, go to the theatre," says Edinburgh head coach Richard Cockerill. "Rugby players play the game to win.15/1/21.

Totally agree with your comments. Me and Mrs Nailsworth will be there on Sunday and hope the noise will be more than our last visit.

Cant wait, should be a cracking game. :smt001

Damn right!

If we are to go out, far better to go out with a bang than a whimper! The Bard, another man of the midlands, knew a bit about dealing with the french;

"When the blast of war blows in our ears, then imitate the action of the tiger, stiffen the sinews, summon up the blood, disguise fair nature with hard-favour'd rage then lend the eye a terrible aspect."
In my defence, I was left unsupervised….

Welcome TigerTom15.

I will be there and will shout until I lose my voice.

I remember years ago when on our long unbeaten home run and we were close to losing and Freddie Tuilagi scored in the corner and the stadium rose as one chanting Freddie, Freddie. Made the hairs on the back of the neck stand on end. Win, draw or lose let's raise the roof on Sunday. :smt027 :smt027

Damn right, we need to roar until we are hoarse!!!!! The terrace will be the main source of noise due to the volume of people, I just hope that the fans around me in the (A&L) Goldsmith stand realise how much their actual passion and support is required to lift a team playing well below par against the current European champions. Tigers!!!!!!!!

I remember that too. It was last minute against Gloucester.

I'll be cheeering them on from my vantage point on the terrace.

I'm in the A+L as well. I sit on the eye (I) of the tiger! Our little group of regular season ticket holders always try and do our bit but we need everybody to be primed and ready for the fight this Sunday.

I am in the A&L/Goldsmiths stand as well and I will shout as loud as I can, but please dont ask me to clap in time as my sense of timing is awful. You will probably hear me shout when everyone else is quiet.

Love it, the ground has been very dull recently, but we could and should make it a very unhospitable place for visiting teams

At the Wasps match I was grumpily told my clapping was "deafening".
It seems hard to generate much atmo in the MetRX.
