Tait - OK under high ball but NEVER passes just runs straight into a group of opposition players
Benjamin - not good enough
Mele - no where near as good as last season, Harrison should have started
Allen - has stopped passing the ball, trying to do too much

The forwards did little wrong and got good go-forward ball, the backs just wasted it - again.
All above IMO, of course :smt002

As an attacking XV we were woeful and I hope Mauger brings not one but two magic wands! If we play anything like that next weekend Toulon will wipe us off the park. The only bright spot for me was Harrison

Positives-
No injuries
Defence was excellent
Scrum was ok
Williams kicking

Not positives
Attack non existent
Not sure about Williams passing
The pratts standing behind me

Not the best game I have seen, but a win is a win. The backs are a real worry, Williams kicks very well, and is defensively sound, but plays quite deep and doesn't seem to get the backs going

I concur with Fentiger.
Forwards were very good. The only reason the scrum struggled at all was deliberate wheeling with no attempt at a contest by Wasps, their flanker was already at 45% before the ball was delivered, unpunished early shoves by them but we got done when we did it, and when Yapp came on I predicted one of his trademark hinges to con a penalty....and lo it came.
Barbieri looked lively as well - our forwards are OK!
Pearce will come good, he is a massive talent but still needs schooling, a bit like TTTE when he first arrived.
Shazam was head and shoulders above Mele, who kicked far too often, and should've come off after his injury, as his pass went to pieces IMO. I honestly believe Sam is our best 9, does all the necessary brilliantly, as well as some nice heads-up rugby.
Backs were utterly pants, I cannot remember a single move of any importance, and Goneva and Scully may well have stopped for a teabreak with no change in Tigers' progress. Tait was very professional, and his runs were reset ones, he even looked to do this a couple of times. Benjamin coped well with being targeted by Wasps.

The ref and TJs missed some stuff, but not at Garner levels - failure to retreat occurred several times, the Yapp-induced scrum penalty, a penalty against us when their LH had his arm down on the deck and their locks went on their knees to stop our drive, plus a few other good ones.

Against Toulon, it will be 50 points against if we kick away ANY possession like today. Suicide. I cannot see us winning unless they mentally fail to turn up, we are just not functioning well enough yet. By February it will be too late for Europe, but not the AP.
However - I see a new, younger team emerging here, and am heartened.

My MOTM was Goodey, Wasps would not be half as good without him.

A win is a win. Backs struggled to pass the ball most of the match, Miles should have grounded the ball even under pressure. Am worried for next week. :smt009

Not sure, but it was definitely not our backs coach whoever he is?

The back play is the worst in the league. We cannot go through this season with no specialist coaching, it is a joke and not acceptable for the paying public. Including the Saracens game, it was over 100 minutes of home rugby without a visit to the 22 from memory.
Turgid, boring and quite frankly zero value for money.
We've morphed into 90s England.

Time for change.

Yawn there is going to be a change.

In terms of now what is the point of trying to get someone in for 1 season and who will want to come in for just 1 season?

You don't like it come, TBH for me it was :censored: but a win is a win, and we are joint 4th on points playing :censored: rugby.

At least the defence isn't embarrassing anymore as that was worse.

Would rather win a game on pens than lose like we did against Glows and Bath.

Fear not, because we have sacked Burke but nothing has changed. However, we still have Geordan Murphy the true dauphin to Cockers all will be alright by next Sunday we will have a bonus points win over Toulon. Allelujah :smt047

I try not to be negative but turned up today with greater expectations, seeing the players returning. In the event it proved to be a tight game with plenty of effort but little craft. Without the likes of Manu and Mulipola, we have no-one who can break the line and since Toby left, we have no-one who will challenge the line to create openings. Goneva is seen as a replacement for Manu but is clearly a winger out of position, not a crash-ball player. We hardly managed to get into the Wasps 22 more than a couple of times and Wasps can consider themselves unlucky to lose. I am desperate for some creativity.
Why did Ashley Johnson come on for Wasps and play hooker? It certainly did not help them.

HB

Johnson originally played Hooker in senior rugby I believe.

Also
I think Loamanu was viewed as a Manu direct replacement although that hasn't gone to plan yet.

The result was all that mattered, closely followed by no injuries, so we made a significant step in the right direction and I will take the points with a smile.
Totally different game next week, will be interesting how the returnees are used, I presume that we will be pretty much at full strength, bar Manu, Logi and Slates, so not a bad position.
