lancaster adds to squad

Post by amazing tiger »

Lancaster has called up a total of nine additional players in case of injuries.

Northampton pair Ben Foden and Alex Waller are included along with Bath duo Henry Thomas and Anthony Watson.

Matt Kvesic (Gloucester) and Richard Wigglesworth (Saracens)

could agree with all of these inclusions

Thomas's inclusion shows we have a paucity of tight heads....although to be fair he is still relatively young.

Can anyone remember another occasion with so few Tigers players in the England squad?

Yes I know OTY, Croft Cole, Parling, Slater and Manua are injured!

And three from Exeter - Dave Ewers, Henry Slade and ... Thomas Waldrom. Obviously the change has done Thomas good. Personally I like Slade and think he would be a good option at 12, his "new" position this season.

No never - now I know what it feels like to support England from a "lesser" club. :smt009

To be fair, what would happen if we lost Kitch, Gibson or Allen? I, for one, am happy to be so lightly impacted.

Don't forget that we're still losing Ayerza and Scully.

Slade has been playing 13 this season, outside Sam Hill. Though I doubt that it's his long-term position, regardless of how well he's played there (scored tries in each of his last four appearances - not bad!).
