I think that the failure to hook, as you suggest, may be that our pack is being pushed backwards or wheeled, players are having to keep all feet on ground to counter, i think because we have not been so dominant in that dept for some time now. I noticed how on one occassion after being penalised for a wheel that the coaches called over Balmain and De Chaves for a chat, it looked as though De Chaves was being asked to give Fraser a bit more shove.
Did anyone notice Thorn as he was being replaced turn to Kitch and Ben and leave his instructions with them, great leader, missed him after his departure.
