Yes now confirmed:

PS: Bench is a 4/4 split - no backrow cover?
Nowadays referees decide matches, players by how much.

Congratulations to Ed. It's thoroughly deserved. It will not be long before he'll regularly be captaining the side.

I might be wrong but not sure this game will count as a full cap?

This match ought not to count as a capped match if previous form is followed.

Cant think why anyone thinks it would be - England v Barbarians doesn't and arguably could be as I think Wales used to give caps for similar matches.

I assume Slater is covering the backrow? Huge congratulations. If Ed can get himself into the main team, and be thought of as a leader, maybe just maybe he could be captain and allow Armitage to come in at 7. A backrow of Croft, Armitage and Vunipolo would be superb - especially if the locks are Slater and one of Geoff, Lawes or Launchbury

Reading Stuart Lancaster's comments indicates that this is considered a 4th test and so will result in full caps. Even if it isn't Ed thoroughly deserves this honour and I'm sure we are all delighted for him. :smt038 :smt038

A well deserved honour for a much under rated player, must be pushing the top 3 i.e. Parling,Lawes and Launchbury for inclusion in the test side proper. This will give the new Leicester club captain? oodles of confidence for the new season.

Crusaders 7 - 26 England (HT)

A bit scrappy at times which is understandable for a scratch side, Cipriani a mixed bag, pack going well and pretty ferocious at the breakdown. Excellent in defence. Slater leading well.

7-38 Full Time

Big defensive effort in the second half, took only two opportunities very well.

Many thanks drc for the scores - much quicker than teletext.
So disappointed that Radio 5 live or 5x or even BBC Radio Leicester did no commentary.
The Leicester Mercury states that Slater will win his first cap I hope they are right.
