49-6 Respect is due

Post by Isambard »

Cmon you lot, some respect for such a huge victory. Is this the largest ever win by an English club over a French one?

I am looking forward to the final even more now having seen the style of play and the commitment to scoring tries.

Agreed! Put some comments on another thread.......several times it appears!

I remain envious of the energy and drive Sarries created. Currently the best side in England.

It is an outstanding result.

Congratulations also to Chris Ashton. Eleven HC tries in a season is incredible. Fully deserves a recall to the England squad.

It physically pains me to say anything positive about Saracens but fair play to them. Their game plan choked Clermont into submission and they seemed to realise that after 60 minutes there was no way back for them. I expect Toulon to stuff Munster tommorow, if they don't I think the final will be a bit of a letdown. Saracens vs Munster doesn't have the same wow factor as a Toulon vs Clermont. Having said that, getting to the final is a massive achievement for Saracens and they deserve the plaudits. If only they could act like a proper rugby club, maybe then they'd stop being hated so much. :smt003

Respect for Sarries. None for Owens though!

Do you seriously think we would not have beaten Clermont at home and with a decent ref? Perspective. I would not have paid better than evens for Saffacens away to Clermont with Rolland in charge.

Saracens were impressive but just how many times does Barnes need to mention how "Saracens beat Tigers in 2011" said in so many different ways :smt011

My lack of respect for Owens is very similar to my lack of respect for Rolland.

I'll second that. Owens gifted Saffas the game in the first half. I doubt any team could have overcome such diabolical referring.

Think it was 46 points, not 49. Also only 20,000 at Twickers, which puts the Wembley attendance into perspective without freebies. Hopefully they'll be knackered by the time we play them at Twickers 31/5.

OK yes Safa's played well. There I've said it... I didn't like doing it but I've done it!

By the way, no one has seen the slight error... the result was 46-6, so lets not give more credit to them than they deserve. :smt003

After watching a performance like that I'm not interested in the ref, TV coverage, lack of fans in the ground, blah, blah. As Tigers rugby fans we know good rugby when we see it. Saracens today were unbelievable from what I saw. Fair play to them.
