Re: the Champions Cup
Unfortunately for RRW, the WRU has a similarly cosy relationship with the Welsh media based in Cardiff.

Re: the Champions Cup
I take it that there is still no Welsh Participation Agreement?misty wrote:Unfortunately for RRW, the WRU has a similarly cosy relationship with the Welsh media based in Cardiff.

Still keeping the faith!
Re: the Champions Cup
RRW are signed up to the Pro12. They don't have an agreement in place with the WRU about player release for internationals, but frankly who cares about that.Bill W (2) wrote:I take it that there is still no Welsh Participation Agreement?misty wrote:Unfortunately for RRW, the WRU has a similarly cosy relationship with the Welsh media based in Cardiff.

Re: the Champions Cup
It's a little more complicated than that. No agreement means no funding from the WRU.biffer wrote:RRW are signed up to the Pro12. They don't have an agreement in place with the WRU about player release for internationals, but frankly who cares about that.
The previous agreement expired at the end of last month.
Re: the Champions Cup
Just for clarification, is that a question? We don't want to risk anybody causing offence.biffer wrote:RRW are signed up to the Pro12. They don't have an agreement in place with the WRU about player release for internationals, but frankly who cares about that.
I am neither clever enough to understand nor stupid enough to play this game
Re: the Champions Cup
The Qualifying Competition will involve the 4 best teams from Italy's National Championship of Excellence plus club sides from second-tier European rugby nations, so presumably more than four.biffer wrote:Try not to be too patronising. You know exactly what I mean but decide to have a dig instead, lovely.
How many teams, from where, knockout single tie or two legs, or a group of four?
I thought there was meant to be an aim of developing European rugby, but it seems to be an afterthought at the moment.

Yeah but we're all presuming aren't we? There's nothing solid in place at all.h's dad wrote:The Qualifying Competition will involve the 4 best teams from Italy's National Championship of Excellence plus club sides from second-tier European rugby nations, so presumably more than four.biffer wrote:Try not to be too patronising. Fairly obviously a statement.h's dad wrote:Just for clarification, is that a question? We don't want to risk anybody causing offence.biffer wrote:RRW are signed up to the Pro12. Statement just released by RRW.....There is not going to be one.Bill W (2) wrote:I take it that there is still no Welsh Participation Agreement?misty wrote:Unfortunately for RRW, the WRU has a similarly cosy relationship with the Welsh media based in Cardiff.

Fairly obviously not the first time you've made that mistake.biffer wrote:Fairly obviously a statement.h's dad wrote:Just for clarification, is that a question? Fairly bizarre thing to say.h's dad wrote: Fairly obviously not the first time you've made that mistake.
Re: the Champions Cup
And everybody is holding out until the last possible moment to try and secure themselves the best possible deal. Just because you and I might not be in the know it doesn't mean nothing is happening. It's the same in pretty much every walk of life, and premature announcements can put a party at a significant disadvantage.biffer wrote:Yeah but we're all presuming aren't we?
