Re: the Champions Cup
Italians have been issued an ultimatum
"They either agree to the new competitions by Thursday or they are out. It's as simple as that."

Italians explain their concerns, and identify issues to be resolved. CP talks to start on 14 April.

Re: the Champions Cup
There are some good points about the unfairness of the PRO 12, in there argument but at the end of the day no Italian teams in Europe cup is not a issue. So if they don't sign by Thursday kick them out.

You have clearly never enjoyed the delights of matches in Treviso or Rome!

Whatever you do, don't argue. We might never hear from you again.
Re: the Champions Cup
Very easy to say. But just as we talk about promotion to the English Premiership being important, it's also important that Italy is afforded the same opportunity in the 6N and European Cup. If the Italians are irrelevant then so are the Scottish and arguably the Welsh in the current state. But within reason they should be afforded the opportunity to get their act together and challenge the current stronger nations. Otherwise what has the last 20 years been for. There are some good points about the unfairness of the PRO 12, in there argument but at the end of the day no Italian teams in Europe cup is not a issue. Re: the Champions Cup
Good point ourla, with which I sympathise.
BJ, if you had read the article I am sure you would have deduced what I meant by Cp, and would have realised that it was a clumsy error on my behalf, and did not need questioning as though not understood.

Re: the Champions Cup
I've read the article and it may be only me but I am unable to decode the CP or Cp. The only reference I see to 14 April is "One thing is certain. No announcement will be made this week over the future of European rugby. On Friday morning there is a meeting between the PRO12 unions and the Italians have notified they will be available to meet the other European representatives from Monday April 14."fleabane wrote:Good point ourla, with which I sympathise.

I am neither clever enough to understand nor stupid enough to play this game

Re: the Champions Cup
Sorry fleabane, I have also read the article and cannot see where it refers to CP or even those two initials representing something. Could you please elaborate?

Re: the Champions Cup
Other than any amount which is paid for English clubs participation in the new cup, what business is it of the Italians how much English clubs get from BT for the premiership?fleabane wrote:Italians explain their concerns, and identify issues to be resolved. CP talks to start on 14 April.

I'm not here to deduce what people might think they've typed.fleabane wrote:BJ, if you had read the article I am sure you would have deduced what I meant by Cp, and would have realised that it was a clumsy error on my behalf, and did not need questioning as though not understood.
I expect people to say exactly what they mean and not leave things to misinterpretation. There is a preview facility on this site so people can read what they've typed before submitting it. It's a shame it's not used by everybody.
