Manu named in England squad

Post by sapajo »

Guess we should all be pleased for him but I admit to being selfishly miffed about it as I believe Tigers need him more :smt023

Let's hope they don't damage him!

I'm extremely happy for him, but I have a real bad feeling if plays against Wales for the full 80 someone or something will destroy him. Fingers crossed I'm wrong.

Just shows you how desperate England's midfield situation is. A bloke who has been out for 5 months plays 70 minutes (pretty rusty for much of the 70 minutes too!) and gets drafted straight back into the England squad.

About as desperate as the front row situation. At least the rusty midfielder is renowned.

He's only been brought into the training squad, which is fair enough. Can't see him starting. Benching possibly.

My guess is he's been drafted up solely to get him back in the mix and up to speed with what they're doing in the England setup ahead of the summer. Don't see him being included against Wales.

Interesting read in the Mercury today in that Manu said he was ready to be called up. Personally I'd like to see him get a little game time against Italy but I don't really want him and Jamie Roberts battering each other into submission this weekend...

From BT Sports.

Now Shaun Edwards reckons Manu will get some game time this Sunday.

As the moderators have said on several occasions, they don't mind if a piece of information doesn't have a link as long as you say where you got it from.

I would be surprised if he is not on the bench. I certainly hope he is. He has missed an entire year of international games aside from a brief cameo for the lions.

Another cracker of a game coming up. Come on England c :smt023
