Newcastle v Tigers

Post by tigerburnie »

First off I wonder if we get any players available from the EPS squad and secondly what do we think will happen with Toby Flood? If he starts and Owen is on the bench, do we take that as an opportunity to rotate the scrum halves as some have suggested? Along those lines, do we also give Julian Salvi a well earned rest on the bench?
With such a strong back up in certain places we now have the luxury of choice, whereas a few weeks ago we were looking very thin.
"If you want entertainment, go to the theatre," says Edinburgh head coach Richard Cockerill. "Rugby players play the game to win.15/1/21.

Matera to start and a whip-round to send Salvi on a beach holiday somewhere, the man deserves his own open-topped bus tour even if we don't pick up any trophies.

Probably all part of the BT sponsorship package - so many weekends televised free throughout the year to get more people watching, teams involved have to plug cost & availability

Personally I would go with

Dan Cole
Bismarck du Plessis
Tony Woodcock
Sam Whitelock
Eben Etzebeth
Thierry Dusautoir
Richie Macaw
Kieran Read

Will Genia
Dan Carter
Cory Jane
Sonny Boy Williams
Conrad Smith
Julian Savea
Israel Dagg

Unfortunately our awful management team have only been able to get hold of Dan Cole! :smt018

Terrible state of affairs! They should all be sacked :smt040

Dan Cole at loosehead? Now I know you're not being serious. :smt002

That's what happens when you try and cut 'n' paste in a pub - players end up out of position!

I agree with this - Salvi has had a season from hell! worked his socks off to little reward and constantly pinged incorrectly: like last week against LI, where he comes in grabs the ball and I'm waiting for a turnover or a penalty for not releasing, but he is then whistled (by number) for not releasing when he was 5 metres away when they tackle was made

Never gives less than 110%.

Why would we want a journeyman like Dan Carter who would only be looking to top up his pension. We should promote from within the academy and play Sam Harrison at flyhalf :smt031
Of course this is my own opinion and other posters may have a different perceived factual viewpoint.
