Huge positive from last Sunday's game

Post by Grumpy of Crumbie »

I'd just like to draw attention to the Ground Staff at Welford Road. Having watched a few games of top level rugby recently played on pitches reminiscent of the 70's and 80's the surface at Welford Road for the Gloucester game was first class.

Although the recent weather conditions have not been as bad in Leicester as elsewhere I still think its a remarkable achievement to produce a playing surface of such high quality.

Better still it goes some way to undermining one of the principle arguments put forward for atificial surfaces.

So well done to the Groundsman and all his Staff, lets hope we get an extra game on it in the form of a play off semi final (well you've got to be optomistic, haven't you?)
If you don't go in hard it's not a tackle it's an insult.

Also heard Simon Cohen say the posts blew over and they had to borrow some from the Ricoh on Sat!

Apparently sent one of the TV trucks to collect them :smt023 So, contrary to rumour TV does have a purpose :smt002

Now I know why the posts at the Welford Road end were different from those at Aylestone Road end (they didn't have the gold caps on the tops of the posts).
